I needed to have new wheel bearings and hubs pressed into new steering knuckles I bought for my car - they did a perfect job for a very reasonable price and were able to get them back to me by the next morning. I definitely will bring any of my machine shop needs here in the future. I have to marvel at the whiney complaining reviews posted for these guys - the owner isn't rude, he's old school, which is exactly what I want in a machine shop.

Felt compelled to write a review after reading some bad ones on yelp that essentially were reviewing the owner's personality / customer service skills. These guys fixed a bad oil leak in my toyota pickup's 22re for half what my mechanic had quoted, and it's been fine since (like 6 years). The guy was nice enough, I wasn't looking for hugs and kisses at a machine shop though so maybe my expectations were too low. If you read the bad reviews on yelp make sure and read the "non recommended" reviews (yelp's automatic / lame algorithm) for the full story as they include the replies from the owner. It's not fair for a business successfully serving the community for 40+ years to suffer because they came up before google and yelp and so aren't hip that they have to treat everyone like royalty or risk getting rakes across the coals online. If you need some machine work done I can vouch for their work. 5 stars.

I needed to have both ends on an armature from a vintage grinder turned down from a very rough 13/16" to 3/4". I was a bit hesitant after reading the only other review at the time but decided to give General Machine a chance. I'm glad I did. Although they charged a bit more than the original estimate ($60 vs $50) they did a first rate job plus weren't "surly" at all!
