The best time to judge a person's character is when things go wrong.

While I was out of the country, we had an issue with a delivery. They handled it exactly how you would WISH companies would act. They immediately took action and solved it. No complaining, no dodging, just action. Will 100% be a returning customer.

On a personal note, the way they treated my wife, while I was out of the country unable to deal with the issue, makes me feel really good about these people. Unfortunately, we live in a world where a woman alone dealing with issues can be treated differently. They didn't.

When things go wrong you can see who people really are and San Pasqual Valley Soils exceeded expectations.

Ordered soil for my vegetable garden … the quality is outstanding! When I first received it I wasn’t impressed BUT I decided to give it a season before reviewing … I have never had such successful crops as I did last year. Anything I planted thrived … definitely 5 star quality !!!

SPVS has a monthly community giveaway of soil or mulch products, and I went last month. I brought home the most gorgeous compost and was quite excited. The giveaway is a generous act that endears them to me, and among my gardening community, SPVS has a good reputation for quality products. I intend to go to them for mulch soon. Also, they had adoptable kittens in the office when I was there...so go for compost, leave with compost and kittens!

Driver shows up and chooses a spot and is not willing to move or dump dirt anywhere else but in the middle of my llama pen, which doesn't work for me because I need to be able to access it without letting the llamas escape. I try to communicate with him but he has an attitude and is in a hurry and is unwilling to explain, or work with me to find another place. Good thing there are other places in SD that sell dirt!

Wanted to order a few yards of fill dirt and top soil about 6 months ago to fix some slope erosion. Was a bit overwhelming at first arriving on-site seeing all the commercial contractors and vehicles moving around everywhere, but went into their office and the staff was exceptional. They walk you through any questions you may have and even escort you out to the various products to grab whatever samples you may need. Afterward, setting up a delivery was quick and within 1-2 days one of their trucks came and delivered. The driver was as professional as the front desk staff, and he dropped off the load exactly where I wanted it. They ended up rounding up my order with probably an extra 1-2 cu. yrd! Dirt and soil turned out to be great quality.

Love this place! Once a month they give away one of their products for free, you self-load as much as you want or pay a small fee to have them load your truck or trailer. They have compost, mulch, stone and all sorts of amendments. We've also had bulk delivery of their products and their delivery fee is quite reasonable compared to competitors.
