They are very helpful when looking for items. Really good with keys, certain home repair/services, and hard to find items. They do get busy and these smaller shops have to do more with less.

I brought my mosquito magnet to this store for repairs in August last year, paid a deposit for the repair, and was told that they would be in touch with me when it was ready. It's now been 8 months and I still don't have the unit even after repeated calls to follow up and find out what's going on. Every time I call, I get a different story about what happened to it. The only common thread is that somehow they lost the unit and are "working on getting a replacement." This isn't difficult, so why is it taking weeks to figure it out? They apparently don't know how to simply order me a new unit to replace the one they lost. Terrible way to treat your customers.

Really great "old time" type of hardware store. They have all the "drawers" with all the "pull outs" for screws and washers and grommets and anchors and everything else you can think of. Pretty amazing diversity of inventory - and it really doesn't cost that much more - which is even more surprising.

I needed help. It is first thing in the morning with four employees in the store. Instead of walking me over to show me where something is, they send me on a wild goose chase. There were no other customers in the store at the time.

I’m not sure where the “true value” comes into play. Their prices are much higher than other hardware stores in the area and the staff are incredibly rude (over 5+ visits over the last 6 years). Their U-Haul rental services are run horribly, and the guy in charge of renting them out will charge you for the insurance (even after verbally declining it in person). The same guy also refuses to print receipts and says “you need to contact U-Haul” to find out how much he is charging you. I am all for supporting local businesses, but it almost feels like they’re trying to convince their customers to leave and locate the nearest Home Depot.
