My husband and I own a small-table lamp (I’ve had for about 33 years), that was in need of electrical repair. I didn’t want to throw it out, and I went online to find a place to take it to. I saw the advertisement for Kona Lighting and then read the Yelp reviews. There were enough positive reviews, so we checked it out for ourselves.

Dave (owner) runs a nifty shop, with the neatest collection of the most unusual one-of-a-kind lamps (he makes them himself) you will find. And they are not your typical Lamps Plus or Home Depot selections, but this is in very good way!

He told us immediately what was wrong with our lamp, and that he could fix it. Dave is The Light Guy and The Right Guy! Some thirty plus minutes later we left with our lamp operating like new again. In addition, the price was extremely fair, and the best part was the terrific-speedy service. He repaired it right there, and we didn't have to leave it.

Avoid if at all possible.

I had a small lamp with only a minor connection problem and left it for repair in July and was told it would be 3 weeks. I began calling after that time and each time was told it would be another week.

After several weeks & calls, it turned out they did not even look at my lamp for over three months. When I finally decided to pick it up un-repaired, I spoke with the owner who couldn't (WOULD NOT ) offer a legitimate reason for not even looking at it and was not at all apologetic (quite the opposite actually).

The owners attitude towards me and my issue with them was totally apathetic and he seemed completely unconcerned that the item was not looked at OR that I was not happy.

I do not believe there are many places for lamp repair in OC, (which may explain their attitude), but I implore anyone needing this service, to look HARD elsewhere, otherwise you will regret it.

I stopped by on a Saturday and an older gentleman answered the door even though the sign in the window said closed. He confirmed they closed about 3 years ago. They have commercial clients that they work with still but are not open to the public. He was still very helpful in assisting me in how to locate the specialty light bulb I need for my mothers 60 year old dining room fixture.
