Worst turkey I have ever encountered! Two Hundred and Fourteen dollars for a 10.8 pound turkey. Tough, stringy and very lean, very little meat. I am a chef and even with 2 days of dry brining it was a disaster. I ended up throwing most of it away. Even the breast was dry and stringy.  I didn't even keep it for stock. Everyone of our guests were of the same opinion. Your turkey ruined our Thanksgiving dinner. UPDATE: Heritage reached out to me and gave me a full refund. I appreciate them honoring their money back guarantee. I guess everyone has a bad day.

Unfortunately, I concur with the other gentleman that recently received and cooked a Heritage turkey, it was the worst turkey I’ve ever had and the most expensive. I sent them a lengthy email and I’ve not heard back. My father is in and stage a method. I wanted to make something very special for his last Thanksgiving so I decided to order an heirloom turkey, and unfortunately, I want to save about 50 bucks so I didn’t order from the other reputable companies, thinking that paying $180 for a 12 pound bird plus shipping and tax would get me something phenomenal. And I am a chef and I have cooked many birds, butterball, fresh organic, organic turkey breast, and I’ve smoked my own as well as roasted, and put one in a fryer. I received a rock, solid, frozen bird that was supposed to have a neck inside as well as the giblets, instead it had additional livers and no neck, and I had to chip away at the ice inside the bird to get to them. It was golden brown when I finished so I had some hope and the white meat seemed to be moist, unfortunately the white meat was tasteless and a little bit stringy with gristle going through it, and the dark meat was very chewy, we too tossed most of the bird out. So very disappointing especially this year. I warn anyone ordering at least a turkey from this company to not do it, you’ll be throwing your money away

Big shout-out to Nick for personally expediting our 12-pound Boston butt order and making sure it got on the FedEx truck the same day, even though we called in the order past their shipping cutoff time. Much appreciated the extra effort and help. Nice piece of shoulder, hitting a 16-hour 200F smoke session tomorrow night after a 24-hour dry brine. Nick made it happen just in time for Mother's Day, which of course is the official start date of the BBQ season.

Our Turkey came to the door today Nov 22nd in a completely destroyed box with a gaping hole on the side. The turkey was completely exposed to the elements and getting roughed up. It was not packaged correctly to begin with. There was one piece of tape and the box couldn’t withstand a 20 pound turkey. Not the experience we were hoping for considering it was $294.

I've been lucky enough to try the Porterhouse Pork Chop and, let me say, it was delicious. Compared to typical pork chops, which can be like eating a damp piece of cardboard, these chops had a surprising depth of flavor that I'd never tasted before. On top of that, you can feel good about purchasing the meat because it's all pasture raised, hormone and antibiotic free, plus it's processed at a Certified Humane facility. Heritage Foods USA also boasts superb customer service. Give it a shot - you won't regret it!

Service was great! I guess the 3 star is I didn’t get what I thought I was getting? Being from Texas I ordered pork belly, they said fat back! I thought that’s just what they called it in New York!? Anyway I now have 10lbs of pork fat
Wanted to make bacon but nope!!!

I love ordering from Heritage Foods, I have had several great experiences ordering my thanksgiving food from this group. I have found everyone I have interacted with is knowledgable and helpful. Recently, Santiago helped me with a mix up with my delivery date. If he didn't catch that I was ordering for Thanksgiving, my food would have arrive frozen the day before Thanksgiving. Thankful for Santiago!

It used to be every Thanksgiving that I ordered a Heritage turkey, Now I've come to expect one of Frank Reese Jr's birds on the table. What was a once a year meat order, has now turned into my go to for all things meat from large party cuts to burgers or bacon. Heritage Foods USA is the essence of what good meat should taste like, and even more so, treats those animals and famers with respect.
