This was an amazing experience. I have always wanted to learn how to forge a blade. Our instructor Matt was super knowledgeable and extremely patient with us newbies. At the end of this experience I came home with a Chef Knife made by my own hands ( with a lot of help from Matt). I look forward to doing this again.

Highly recommend this class!! 5 of us booked a private class with Matt for my brother’s bachelor party. He was very patient and walked us through each step of the knife making process (repeatedly) - it’s harder than it looks!

We chose a design from three different shapes and Matt was great at helping us newbies create a useable knife at the end. It was an awesome memento to commemorate the wedding! 10/10 would recommend!

Have always wanted to try forging a knife and got this class as a birthday gift. And it was one of the best gifts ever! Such a great experience and Jamie did a phenomenal job instructing. He kept the class at a good pace and with clear instruction and demonstration at every step. He was also great about giving feedback. If something needed work he let you know (politely) but if it was going in the right direction, he let you know that too. While my knife didn’t come out how I had it planned in my head, I’m very pleased with the final result! Highly recommend!

Let's be honest we have all watched Forged in Fire thinking oh that's easy I can do it. It is not as easy as they make it look but it sure was fun to learn. I took the introduction to bladesmithing class with Matthew Parkinson, he was very informative on the process. Making a blade right takes a lot of practice and experience which the instructor had in spades to help us fix the beginner issues which he was then able to explain to us what problems they would cause down the line.

Took the kitchen knife class, and had an absolute blast. Matt is patient, an adaptable teacher, a craftsman, and entertaining. I came in knowing nothing about the process, and left feeling like I learned a ton, and with a beautiful knife. This is a great way to spend a weekend learning something new. Bring a friend or loved one and take the class together. Thanks very much for the experience!
