Town of ledyard public works is absolutely terrible to deal with. Unmatched unprofessionalism. The people they pay to plow the roads are inexperienced and will ruin your property instead of taking the correct steps to ensure otherwise. Amongst calling to get it figured out they refused to replace what they’d destroyed, talked down on me for them destroying my property as I was explaining to them why their 18.99 + tax fix wouldn’t suffice to the 500+ in property damage they’d caused. (Not including labor). And HUNG UP on me. Crazy to think the amount of taxes we pay and they aren’t capable of holding themselves accountable and making the PROPER repairs to their TAXPAYERS. If hit any harder they would’ve been responsible for the neighborhoods power outage as well. (Green x former panel). See photos attached. This is a 4x4” 1/4” thick square stock, oversized steel box that was buried in the ground @3ft with 160lbs of REBAR REINFORCED CONCRETE at the base. With a beacon light at the top!! This was plowed out of the ground and moved 8-10ft from where it was located. I understand accidents but this by all means was a brute force and ignorance rush job that’s now in on ME to get it fixed AS IT WAS. Neighbors assessing the damage with me also made complaints about previous years- plow drivers hauling into the neighborhood and instead of plowing to the culdesac, they plow all of us in on the hillside. Might I add this is already my own second box due to the state? Genuinely I am disgusted that taxpayers money is paying for absolute incompetence. DO BETTER LEDYARD PUBLIC TOWN WORKS. (Photos are after I unearthed it from the snowbank) but in place where it had fallen)
