Bought a Mendota gas fireplace insert from them after visiting several distributers. Linda was very knowledgeable and streamlined the whole process. They were a bit more pricey but worth the money. They came to the house to take measurements (others would not) and the install was efficient and professional. So far the insert is working great and I would highly recommend them.

The 2 workers cleaned my pellet stove and checked my chimney. They were efficient, courteous and clean. They protected my many decorations around where they worked and left the area clean. would highly recommend this company.

Very poor (ahhhhh, no f/u) follow-up! Didn’t have the decency to call me to tell me they didn’t want (or couldn’t accommodate) my business (a difficult install); I’d have been ok with the latter. 🦗 🦗 🦗

PS: I contacted them numerous times. Nice guys, nice line of stoves, but no mas!

Great customer service and above all a business with integrity. We were told by a different chimney sweeping company two years ago that we have only a partial liner in our fireplace chimney and that we need to get it replaced with a full liner. After contacting a couple of establishments with no luck, we came across The Trading Post New Milford branch. my husband went to the store, met Nick, ordered the full liner, paid a deposit and they contacted us subsequently to schedule a date/time to install the liner. When they came to install the liner and checked our chimney, they found out that we do have a full liner already installed and we don't need a new one. The tech guys who came were honest, they could have just replaced what we had without even informing us and charge us the full price for the liner but they didn't. We also needed some other work done on the second chimney and they informed us we need a different part for it rather than what we thought we needed. They were kind enough to refund us the balance amount charged since we didn't need a full liner anymore. Came back another day, installed the piece needed on the second Chimney. Easy to work with, responsive, reasonable, above all honest (hard to find these days).

Best customer service out of all stove places in CT and MA!!! If I could, i would give them 10 stars!
Been rebuilding my old pellet stove. Stove is a workhorse, but flue and chimney needed to be updated. As you may have guessed, spent countless hours researching on internet and visiting local and not so local stove stores. No one had the parts nor the knowledge. Until I called Trading Post and Dave answered.... Boom, the guy walked me over the phone on what I needed and how to accomplish it. Didn't try to sell me anything, just a laid back knowledgeable conversation.

Could have gotten the parts anywhere but drove quite a distance to go visit the team at the store as thanks.

Laid down all the parts and walked me through everything! Back at home the job was a breeze! Saved me tons of time and frustration.

I bought my 1st V.C. stove from them in 2002 and my 2nd in 2015. I went there at first because of price, now I go there because of their service and knowledge! When I had a difficult issue I called Dave and his staff and they were very helpful! Talked me through the issue and didn't try to upsell me. Great experience, I'll be going there for all my future wood stove needs. I appreciate the great service!

I’ve been looking into a wood burning insert for a while and I went to a few different hearth places in the area and trading post is by far the best place to go for a stove. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, Nick is awesome, they even walked me through installing the stove myself which none of the other places had even offered that.
