Alex Ruhnau is a combined architect and a skilled builder. From the start of our project, he worked with us through the design phase, making excellent suggestions and recommendations to adapt to our lifestyle and our personal taste. His architectural skills played a significant role in producing accurate, high-quality drawings in which every detail of the project was scrutinized. The strength of this final design ensured that once the building process began, there would be need for very little additional modification.
Alex provided us with an accurate and very detailed estimate of all costs for the project. His construction experience revealed these estimates to be very accurate and were useful in keeping expenses within expectations. This schedule was updated regularly as decisions were made on specifics (flooring, cabinetry, fixtures, lighting, appliances).
Meeting with us at specific intervals during the construction, he personally brought us to suppliers assisting us in our selections of materials for flooring, tile, countertops and the like, well in advance so they could be factored into the design.
We received regular updates on a master expenditure schedule as well as emails, texts, photographs and even drone shots of the details of construction to keep us informed on how every phase of the project was moving forward.
Alex treated this project as if he was building his own home, perceptive about defining and envisioning every detail, ensuing that each contractor was held to the highest standards, and holding them to the excellence he expected.
The finished project was breathtaking. Cabinetry, trim work, flooring, decorative ceilings, stunning bathrooms, outdoor kitchen, infinity-edge pool, and much, much more. The diligence he gave the project throughout was evident everywhere.
We cannot say enough about how happy we are with the result and how wonderful it was to work with Alex and we thank him for building us a beautiful home here in Florida.
