Wow, wow, wow! That is all we can say about our new kitchen designed by EKD. We had a couple of ideas on how to renovate our kitchen, and Erica was able to accomplish those goals and even more!. We're amazed by how much additional prep space, storage space, and seating we now have compared to our old kitchen with changes proposed by EKD. Erica understood the needs of our large family and was able to exceed what we thought would be possible.

Erica is so personable and easy to work with. She offered much guidance for the many decisions that needed to be made throughout the project. We hit unexpected delays with another vendor, and Erica truly advocated on our behalf until the job was completed. Without Erica, our stress levels would have been through the roof -- we're so thankful we had her involvement for the duration of the remodel and highly recommend her!

I just finished my project with Erica Kay remodeling + design and have to say it was amazing! Erica understands what it's like to have a busy family and how much of a toll a huge renovation can take on your daily life. I loved how she provides different levels of service, from just designing a space and handing it over to you all the way up to coordinating your project from start to finish (i highly recommend this option if your budget allows). I have always been what you might call design challenged and she and her husband Chris made it very easy to choose the fixtures i put in my new kitchen. When I realized halfway through the project that I was going to go over budget they quickly re-grouped and found different options for me to bring us back in line. They didn't pressure me or judge and I so appreciated that! All my friends and family that have come to see the kitchen have said "it looks like something from a magazine!" and i couldn't agree more!

We loved working with Erica Kay Design and Remodeling. We worked with Erica and her team to open up our kitchen and give it a fresh, modern look that we have absolutely loved. Erica always helped us to narrow down options when we were having trouble making decisions. It always helped to have her perspective and experience when it came to the design details. She was always very excited and motivated to help us make our dream kitchen a reality.

One minor detail but we really appreciated how mindful the team was during demo to save our old cabinets for donation to Habitat. We also loved the open communication we had with the team while the project was underway at our house. We look forward to working with Erica and team on other upcoming home projects!

I wasn't sure going into our home renovation if it would be "worth it" to pay an interior decorator. Erica absolutely WAS worth it — and then some!

Erica saved me so much time and agony making the hundreds of important decisions on our project. And I absolutely love the outcome. She was excellent at understanding my vision and style and making appropriate recommendations, encouraging me when to go bolder with statements or when to scale back and play it safe. She also made the process very easy, ordering the items we selected and making returns for me when necessary. She helped me beyond the outlined scope of the project with dozens of tiny questions that came up as we continued working together. I would highly recommend her and hope we can work together again.

I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of my Roeland Park kitchen renovation, designed and managed by Erica Thowe. I have an older, smaller 1940’s home, which I love, but I reached the threshold of tolerance for my small kitchen during the pandemic. Erica dropped by to have a look, take measurements and talk through initial ideas and design concepts. Erica had an immediate understanding of my style and added new ideas to the mix. I ended up gutting my kitchen and removing a wall to open up space to add both storage and functionality. I changed my mind on some aspects of design along the way, and Erica was patient and accommodating, providing expert guidance throughout the process. The cabinetry by Wes Edwin Design represents brilliant workmanship and care. The construction team was efficient and professional. A kitchen renovation is a substantial undertaking, and the process was as smooth as it could have been. Ultimately, I’m thrilled with every aspect of the design plan, as well as the finishing touches. I have more kitchen storage than I know what to do with, and a beautiful space to enjoy and entertain. We are still pinching ourselves! I’m an exceptionally happy client and only wish that I had made the decision to renovate the kitchen earlier.
