Took 3 deer in that were killed on the 19th, called about processing on the 24th and took them there. Was told by an employee they were processing the deer that day for the 18th and our meat would be started on the next day and would be done by Sunday or Monday at the latest, we'd get either a text or phone call and he took both of our numbers. Idk who the man was who took us in but after we were finished, after getting how we wanted our meat, he was told stew meat, cubed, ground and sausage...all of it. So since we take a person at their word, 6 days later on a Thursday I called to inquire since we'd not heard anything. The man who answered told me the deer had not even been started on and would probably be started on the next day and POSSIBLY be done by Saturday or sometime Sunday-as they had 2 employees out sick, he also explained that the date of KILL had nothing to do with when it was processed, it was taken in ORDER of the day it was brought in- NOT what we were told by the man who took the meat as we brought it in!!! Sure enough Sunday rolls around and my husband gets a text Sunday while deer hunting and texts me the meat is ready. The hubs tells me to call about debit or cash so I do and the man who answered the phone was extremely rude and told me the price had been included on the text..I NOT knowing this CHOSE to ignore the rudeness and asked about cash or debit and was told cash ONLY. So we go to pick up the meat and we're amazed...only 24.packs of meat for 3 deer..total price 215.00. 3 packs of stew meat(approximately 2 lb packages), 6 rolls of sausage (1-1/2lb ea) 9 packs of ground meat (1-1/2lbs. to 1-3/4 lbs each) and 6 packs of cubed with the patties being smaller than my female fist. My husband informed the man who retrieved the meat from the cooler after seeing it that we had brought in 3 deer. Mans reply...that's all we got. So needless to say we will NEVER be back. Before I go any further with this review let me say this, we skinned and quarter the deer ourselves, packed in a cooler with brine and ice. The only thing done was processing our meat-minus the tenderloins, we took those out first...thank God. Due to a medical emergency in my family, we had to take it to a processor. We aren't from around this area, so I had to look up SEVERAL processors and call, they were the only ones who'd take it. I must also add, the biggest doe field dressed weighed 120 pounds, the 2 smaller ones approximately 50 each. Now anyone who's ever hunted and taken me at to a processor KNOWS they always keep a little meat, always. But 24 packs of meat from 3 deer is highway robbery and any valid deer hunter knows this, and yes, I hunt too and have always processed our meat. Not only were we lied to when our meat was taken in, but most of it was kept and we paid 215 for 38 pounds of meat...off 3 deer mind you, AND no butcher tickets..imagine that...state law requires (O.C.G.A. 40-10-4) that a customer get a receipt, especially for wild game!! I'm pretty sure the owner deletes what he doesn't want the public to see, especially a negative review. That's perfectly fine, he doesn't realize who he screwed over, I'm a paralegal. He will be reported to 3 state agencies and more. Be forewarned this is NOT where you want your meat taken, ESPECIALLY if you don't buy meat at the grocery store and supply your family by hunting!!! I'm just sick, we could've taken the meat home (upper NW Ga)and had all 3 processed for 150 bucks tops(even with them keeping some) and had twice the meat, I hate this area, everything is a ripoff!
Have included photos of the meat we received, separated it so you can see for yourself what we were given.
