My friend and I were getting supplies for a project and he needed welding gas. He almost went to another place in town where it had costed him $140+ to exchange his tank. I had remembered seeing Central opened up when I was in the area for another shop, so on a whim we stopped there first. We were both beyond happy we did, because that same tank exchange was a little over $90! What a huge price difference.

As if that wasn't enough, the staff here were beyond friendly, just salt of the earth type folks. We decided to sign up for a mig welding class, with some really great knowledgeable welders and lots of hands on time with multiple machines. I had never laid a bead in my life and after some instruction and practice in the class, actually felt ready to practice with a welder I had bought a few months ago. I'll certainly be back for additional classes and to buy supplies. Everything in the store seemed to be priced very reasonably. Nothing was price gouged like many other stores here in town. I'll certainly check here before buying anything online.

Oh, and the store is kid friendly too as it's a family owned business. Had I known before, I would have brought my son along for the class! Thanks, and I look forward to spending some time at the next event to hone the art of welding.

My family was visiting Fairbanks for a week. I'm a tig welder back home in Pennsylvania. I found central welding on our last day here. I checked out the website and read the reviews and said I need to check these guys out. I was not disappointed! The store is very nicely stocked with supplies and machines and consumables. Anything one could want for any kind of welding. The guys were awesome!!! One of the reviews I said" it was like talking with a family member". It certainly was. They showed me every inch of that store ,explained everything about the company and the welding industry in the area it was awesome. I was there for an hour and a half. I didn't want to leave. If I'm every in Fairbanks again I am definitely stopping by and joining in on one of their classes. Thanks guys for one of my highlights of my trip to Alaska!

Yep this is the best place to buy welding supplies from in Fairbanks, in my personal opinion! Open minded considered and LISTEN to what you have to say before suggesting a solution.

A+++ service. I had purchased an engine drive welder from a different store and it did not come with any leads. I had never been to CWS before but figured they would have what I needed. I stopped by an hour before they closed on a Friday and met Jeff who let me know what I needed and made sure I wasn't spending more than I actually needed. He even took me back to show me the new cordless welders made by ESAB. I told him about another machine I was having issues with and he informed me that they could take a look at it and see what was causing the problems.We figured it would be best if I came back Monday so Jeff could get those leads setup and I could bring my other machine in. Jeff had the leads ready to go and the other two employees made sure I had everything I needed for PPE and other equipment. By far the best service I've ever experienced in Fairbanks and probably anywhere else. You would be making a mistake if you didn't go to CWS for your welding supply needs.

Awesome shop. Knowledgeable staff. Kids took a welding class held by central welding supply. They brought in a number of volunteer instructors who were incredibly knowledgeable and patient. Incredibly hands on. Thanks Roy, Adam, Jeff and Blue.

I'm here visiting my brother-in-law and his family. I hail from upstate South Carolina. My BIL offered me his seat for the 11/15/23 class. I attended with a few of his kids. We had a fantastic time. Elizabeth was such a wonderful tutor for the aluminum welding, especially for a noob like me. I learned the basic concepts of TIG welding and am excited to return to SC with this knowledge. I plan to visit again for another class when I return.

The staff are more than friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. If I lived here, I'd continue going to the classes and would purchase all my welding supplies from them.

Excellent experience. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend Central Welding Supply. They have always been very knowledgeable and helpful. They offer a tig welding class once a month. Easy to work with and extremely helpful. They have done all they could to help Red Barn Small Engine School. Helped us outfit for the kids for the intro to welding classes we offer.
