I own a auto repair shop in Texas. I am from Fairbanks and live in Texas now, I go home every summer to see Mom. Mom's van broke down on her and I asked the former owner of Polar Automotive ( my uncle ) who would you recommend and his first word was Dave's. Dave has been in heaven for a while now but the shop manager was there to help us out and they did a fantastic job helping us with our repair needs.
As a technician myself it was hard for me to pay someone to fix my moms car, but my Uncle highly recommended Dave's and I am glad he did.
The office lady was very nice, the manager was very nice, the whole experience was nice, we had no issues at all with the shop, with the work, with anything at all.
We will be using them again and hopefully this week, need another car repaired and I wouldn't trust any other shop to fix it for me.

Pat down there at Dave's Shop is quite knowledgeable when it comes to twisting wrenches. Just hold a conversation with him and you'll see that. They have some really great people working in there. And don't let Julia at the desk fool you. She may look & talk politely and have a soft demeanor but if she doesn't get what she is promised for their customers it's a Momma Bear situation. I do believe I have found my garage.

Pat is a super busy mechanic. He was straightforward, polite, and honest. He communicated with me through telephone or text message all along the way letting me know the progress of the repair. He knows his diesel engines and I'd recommend him to anyone!

Kinda sad that my vehicle broke down at a mechanic's shop and couldn't even get worked on due to the fact that the shop owner is too busy working on losing customers.

My truck broke down whilst I was in the process of relocating it during a move from the north pole to Fairbanks, it then sat for nearly three weeks before I finally had a day off in which I could work on it myself and potentially get it started after addressing the minor wiring issues that were causing it not to turn over. First I had to pull and recharge the battery that had drained, then reconnect the ignition wires that had become loose. I charged my battery and came back to pace it in my truck so that I could hopefully get it started. There was another truck next to mine that was in the process of getting towed out of the "booked for two weeks" line up of vehicles on the shops lot so I stood out of the way while smoking a bowl of tobacco in my corncob, after the truck was moved I was approached by an excessively grumpy mechanically inclined individual that I'm assuming was the owner and told that I had five minutes to magically fix my truck and get it off the property because I was "eyeballing the vehicles" next to mine and he doesn't allow "non licensed individuals to work on their own vehicles on this property"

Needless to say I don't suggest going to this shop unless you want rude and adolescent service from a bipolar mechanic that owns a shop which doesn't have time to work on vehicles, time to call a tow truck and move it from one shop to another in hopes that an actual mechanic can fix the issue on my truck so that it's up and Running one payday.

Don't waste your time or your money at this shop, just save yourself the migraine.

I would not recommend this place and I was very disappointed by their receptionist. I called the shop and got a quote for a single tire and cost of services. Which they had told me was $125 for the tire and $80 for labor. So after ordering the tire on a Thursday they said they would have it in the next day. So I went to the shop at the time I was told and they made me wait for a good half an hour before telling me the tire hadn’t been delivered as scheduled. They then set another appointment for the following Tuesday. And when I got there they hadn’t even called to see if the tire was in, and had to postpone my appointment by an hour to go get the tire. Finally they get the tire and do everything in about 20minutes. Which was great. But THEN they told me the total was $275. $80 for labor like they said.(which THAT much for 20 minutesOK) and then they told us the tire was $180. Which was NOT what they had said when I originally called. So of course I was furious. Especially since I did not have the money for the extra $50 they charged me. Now I hate writing bad reviews, but this place ripped me off and I don’t do well with that because I had to dip into my bill money this month just to pay for this. And that is after I took the time to search around for the cheapest place to have my tires done, and it turned out to be wrong. There were several other places I could have gone to. But overall the people were very nice im just extremely pissed over being ripped off and I just believe people should watch out for that.

Brought truck here for alignment was told unable to align due to bad drivers side trunion bearings and drag link ends and one bad tierod end when i picked up the truck i told them i would be bringing it back once i replaced the faulty parts for the alignment asked what i owed for lookin at it was told 20 bucks! The parts they said were bad actually were bad i replaced those parts and brought the truck back for the alignment paid $100 steering wheel was straight truck drives straight think i found the only honest shop that does alignments.

Dropped truck off last week and it was stolen from the parking lot. The entire staff worked endlessly to recover my vehicle. Last night Pat called me to tell me they found it. They even gave me a ride to pick it up. This shop rocks!
