Does kansas not have a cold weather rule during the winter? I'm positive it does. These people keep turning my water off, and then they do it on a holiday when they aren't in the office so even if I pay the bill, no one is going to turn it back on? What kind of crap is this? No payment arrangement offered and turning of water on a night where the temperature is dropping to -9. So great!!

Get the distinct impression that they do not care how the public preserves them. Zero effort put into providing quality customer service. My water meter started pumping out water on Sunday night and flooded my yard. Tried to report it on Monday morning, but it being a holiday they were of course closed. On the website it said to reach out to JCDP when they're closed, but the phone number they provided is invalid/not in service. About halfway through the day the water stopped pumping out of the water meter. Called again on Tuesday morning, explained what was happening and that the water stopped pumping out halfway through the day. The person I was talking to then interrupted me (and I absolutely hate being interrupted when talking) and just said "thank you" and hung up. Didn't even let me say that my water was still off, provided no feedback, didn't even confirm if/when anyone would come out to look at it. I've now been w/o water for over 48 hours.

Bill is over $300 a month for 1 person with sewer being the most expensive at over $200 of the bill. Called and they said "that's normal." It's not. It's absolutely not normal.
Edit: I moved into a house over in Grandview Plaza and we have our own city building/utilities. My water/sewer/trash bill is $85 a month. JC is absolutely scamming and robbing people.

Bill over 100 and I wasn’t even there but one weekend. When i called I was told the bill was blah blah and my actual usage was $19. She told me the lower my usage the lower the rest of the cost. I have never in my life seen a company with $19 in usage charge $80 in fees. So basically every month I am paying the city but not for the water I actually use ? Back In st.Louis the water bill would be the lowest maybe $19 period. And you could pay it like every 6 months. Apt’s NEVER paid water bills. It’s extortion and no one does anything about it.

A few months they garnished my bank account. $168 in charges turned into nearly $500 when I refused to pay a bill I already paid. Horrible company. That was all I had and they garnished my account. I have never seen a company allow for bank accounts to be garnished unless it was federal

To the worker that scoop out a huge chunk of my side lawn after that storm the beginning of July. I seen u.. You didn't even try to fix it or say anything! I hope u get fired!! Doesn't deserve even 1 star.

So I moved out an apartment in June 2022. I contacted the water department 2-3 WHOLE weeks before the move. They obviously left my water on for someone else to use because now they are charging me $300. They care NOTHING about their customers AT ALL!!!

Never in my life have I lived and witnessed .complete billing misappropriation, this city has a new excuse every two to three months as another reason to raise n the water and sewer bill!!! After a comparison to other local towns in this state we are billed 40% more Tham nanhattan, Salina, topeka... but then again we ate the ones that havebAv2.5 million dollar debt in the high-school.

My water bill is between 105 and 110 per month for a small residence of 800 sq feet and a single person. Has been for almost 2 years. No leaks under the house can be found and no outside irrigation system. The staff and company clearly don’t care about their customers. I’ve given up contacting about anything. Absolutely terrible.
