It’s always great to have the opportunity to vote early. If you get here early enough, you will NOT have to wait long. The officials are VERY nice. If you’re unsure of how to use the voting system, they’re more than happy to help. They show you how to cast your vote and how to properly insert your ballot. I also appreciate that they give you a sticker as soon as you finish voting.

The Johnson County Election Office is among the many, many businesses and individuals that blatantly and shamelessly steals US Postal Service equipment.
Last month during a trip to the Election Office on Kansas City Road, I noticed a number of USPS plastic mail trays on a desk filled with items that were clearly not incoming or outgoing mail.
As an election worker, I recently went into the Election Office to pick up my check for working the election. Stacked on the table were 4-5 USPS plastic mail trays that all had election workers checks in them. They did not have postage on them. I mentioned to the man handing out the payments that those trays belong to the USPS, not the Johnson County Election Office. He said “Oh, we use tons of these for our use here in the office.”
On each side of every USPS mail tub or tray is printed “United States Postal Service”. And “Use of this equipment for any purpose other than the transport of US mail is strictly prohibited by Federal Law.”
For years I’ve seen businesses both retail and offices that keep and not return USPS mail equipment.
Who among us has not complained about the price of postage? Who do you think absorbs all this theft? We all do.
Shame on the Johnson County Election Office and any other business or individual that steals USPS mail equipment!

I stopped by to get a copy of my voter registration card after confirming via email that this was perfectly fine. I needed it today and couldn't wait for it to be mailed. The woman who "helped" me there was rude and very noticeably rolled her eyes at me (twice) for a request that took all of 3 minutes in an office that was completely empty. As a constituent, you shouldn't feel like an inconvenience when you visit your election office.
