About a year ago we started the process of a complete gut renovation of our 2020 build condo after a fire next door left it with a combo of fire, smoke, and water damage. Serg and team came in with a strong estimate for the work to be done, knowledge of the unique elements that come along with rehabbing a space that has sustained damage, and the most optimistic timeframe for when we could get back into our home (like any construction project, you'll be wise to trust no one's estimate on this and add extra weeks/months depending on the complexity of the build - I mentally priced in 2 more months than Serg told us and we just made it back in by that timeline - not the initially quoted one - but I don't think anyone could have gotten us back in faster).

If you like the work that Serg and his team would do for a flip/investment property, I think you can use them as a GC and be on total cruise control. We wanted to make adjustments, tweaks, and some improvements the property, and those were the places where communication and double checking of work was key. Although Serg and I 100% frustrated each other throughout the process, ultimately, he did the work to make each element of the build meet our vision, including swapping out things that had already been installed that weren't what we'd discussed. We both would love to minimize that, but I think the commitment to making things right is a standout element for me.

Similarly, I'd call out the quality of Serg's team that managed the day to day work. They were always friendly when we busted in on them on site (which happened constantly), and most importantly in areas where detail really matters, like tiling, they really took their time. I may have thought it was wild for it to take 2 weeks to complete all the bathroom tile, but ultimately it is done cleanly and perfectly spaced, unlike the sloppy mess that was in our "brand new construction" home when we bought it.

The work that JC General did on our place has put it significantly ahead of the quality of most Jersey City new builds.

Sergio and the crew were absolute professionals in handling a detached garage remodel (conversion to family room/office space) at our property in Kearny, NJ. We could not be more pleased with the final result. From the beginning discussion on various options, the negotiating on a plan of action, their handling of ongoing construction, and with their final delivery of a polished construction project ---- JC General was very quick to respond with any questions/concerns we had; and, also came across as a contractor that "cared" about a standard of delivered work, rather than just trying to turn over a project by cutting corners.
