Hall QB's targeted audience is first time home buyers. Do not build/buy a Hall home if it's your first property; you won't know you're getting screwed until you're screwed.

-"5 star energy rating" means drafty, molding doors and windows and open spaces on sliding doors so large spiders and bees will waltz in anytime they like, not to mention the freezing air rushing in during winter.
- During the building process, to save themselves money, they will create large holes in the lawn that depress and widen over time ("depression holes"). Not only an eye soar, but you lose lawn space and is a safety hazard. Mine is currently 4' deep and 16' wide and grows every year! Plus, there is no repairing or filling the hole, you're stuck with it.
- Plumbing in garage was not done up to code.
- Insulation in attic was more like a thin napkin.
- "2-car garage" means extra wide 1-car garage; there's no fitting 2 cars side-by-side through the garage door.

Do not recommend Hall "Quality" Builders.

DON'T BUILD WITH HALL "QUALITY" BUILDERS!!!

Just don't do it. They'll screw you over and do terrible work in the process.

-They left half the bathroom and kitchen cabinet trim unfinished (and never sent someone out to finish it like they promised, once I called about it)
-The concrete walkway wasn't even centered to the door.
-The front door is a FOOT to the left of where the blueprints called for it it be!
-Daylight shows around (and through) ALL the exterior doors! (5 star energy rating, my rear end!)
-The windows weren't installed right so moisture builds up and molds.
-They never even painted ANY of the window trim! It's primed, but no paint!
-The breaker panel was so miswired and mislabeld that it took another electrician two trips to try to fix it for us.
-The carpet was very poorly installed and the carpet nail strips have cut my children on more than one occasion.
-The cabinet stain was so poorly done that they got it all over the walls!
-They didn't properly engineer the leech-field of our septic, so now THAT'S going bad.
-They told us our house would be finished in October, but we didn't get to move in until the following January.
-They didn't put the well in deep enough.

And among all the other problems we've had with this home, their electrician wired our home so that when I used the microwave the TV turned off! Not even making this up. The microwave that THEY installed would trip the breaker for the living room. HOW?

Hall "Quality" Builders has terrible customer service (once they've gotten your money, that is) and won't return calls.

Save yourself the headache and don't even consider them - you'll do yourself a favor.

***Edited to add that they now contract a different electrician who is excellent.

My parents own a Hall home, and we lived there for half my childhood and it was a great home. They never had any problems, and if they did HQB told them to call and they would fix it, so that's amazing customer service on their part. I'd recommend them to anyone looking to build a house with great people.

We had a home built in the Kbeach area in 2010 by Hall, and the building process went fairly smoothly, there were some small hiccups but nothing much. During the closing process and what not, we were garuteed by Clint and his office staff at the time that if anything were to break down, like the roof failing before the expected 20 year life span, that they would do right by us and cover it..
Fast-forward to winter of 2017, our leach field failed on us, we've had it regularly serviced and what-not, but it completely failed and backed up, I called HQB/Clint right when it happened and he said "well come summer they can take care of it for us".. it is now Oct. of 2018, we have been calling multiple times a week all summer and they have not come out, and now Clint is saying "I was going to guide them through the process of replacing it".

So now I am having to go through our paperwork to see if we have any legal recourse for this, a standard well installed leach field should last 15-25 years, not 6.5years..

Clint is nothing but a slick fast talking car salesman. If you have any other options other then HQB, TAKE THEM!

I purchased my first house through them and had an excellent experience. The process was smooth and everyone was extremely helpful. I highly recommend them if you are a first time home buyer or are looking for something new.
