Clean meat, great meals, wonderful service
We ordered Yak in quantity - from ground to steaks and other cuts. The shipments arrived timely and fully frozen and all of our meals with the product were delicious. We are hopeful that we will be able to continue to do business with Robert and Lisa and the Chama Valley Meats team - we are moving five hours further south than our current location which is already about seven hours south and west of Chama....our loss if we can't get deliveries that far south.... We highly recommend the Yak products from Chama Valley Meats.

I had to dig really deep to find this gem in New Mexico from all the way in Florida. But once you’ve had yak, no other red meat compares. I found them online with no idea how wonderful they would be - both in service and in quality. Robert went way above and beyond to ship us a whole yak - 250 lb of meat across most of the country in the summer. He saw an issue with shipping and was on the phone with UPS before it was even late. It got here perfectly frozen! And oh my word! The meat is the best we’ve had!!

This is our 4th yak but first from this farm, and they’re doing it right. Sweet, tender, and juicy despite being incredibly lean. The packaging is perfect with commercial style labels so we know exactly what we have and how much of it with no mystery meat packaging. This is our new go-to for our annual yak. Thanks for all the hard work to get it here and the obvious care you take in raising and harvesting your animals.

I am a repeat customer! Chama Valley Meat is the best –it is local, grass fed, family owned and uncompromised in any way. I am a Nutritional counselor and I recommend Chama Meat to all my local clients. The Yak is delicious and adds variety to one’s protein intake. The grass fed beef has an Omega 3 profile closer to Wild Caught Salmon than conventional corn fed beef. And the taste is outstanding.

We have been buying the great meat from Chama Valley Meats for years and hope we never have to buy beef or yak anywhere else. The steaks— from top sirloin to ribeyes to filet— are delicious and not tough. The ground meat is perfect for burgers, meat loaf, and stuffed peppers. Our dogs love to get the older meat sold as dog food as a topper for their kibble and Robert and Lisa are generous with sharing bones with our foster dogs at Chama Valley Humane. The service is always prompt and excellent and as an added bonus we get to see the animals grazing on the lush grasses of the valley and nearby mountains and know they live the best lives possible.
