I've purchased steaks from these folks a few times now, and they were always labeled choice, but I'd swear they were prime, all day! Recently, I bought their hamburger and omg how much more flavor it had. I don't know how I could ever eat store bought again. 10/10 great butcher shop.

I brought 97 pounds of boned out meat to agp for processing. They returned 47 pounds of processed meat and told me the meat was dirty, which it wasn’t at all. When I got home I was excited for a tenderloin dinner and found only one in the box. They said it wasn’t there! It was. I gave them another star because the girls up front were really nice, otherwise 1 star rating.

If you care about processing speed and a pleasant staff, come to AGP. If you actually care about the meat you’re paying for, try elsewhere. I brought a quartered 6x5 bull elk in pristine, clean condition and was returned a little under 105lbs of meat, five of which being the beef tallow they added to the ground.

Despite handing over a full bag of loins backstrap etc. I received just .66lbs (!!!!!) of tenderloin and 1.62lbs of sirloin. I ordered 10lbs of breakfast sausage and only received 9 x 1lb bags. I asked for as many large 3-5lb roasts as possible and received 4 total, with just one exceeding 2.75lbs. (11lbs total for all for roasts on a mature elk).

Upon sorting my meat and tallying the weights I called AGP to make sure a box had not been forgotten and was told that because it came pre-quartered the low yield was to be expected. But we took the neck meat, the rib meat, anything that could be picked off the bone, we harvested in the field and delivered fresh, hours after the kill.

The gal on the phone had a pretty little explanation for my every concern, but I have processed elk before. I have processed smaller elk and turned a far, far higher yield. We only took this one to the processor because the temperature was too high and we did not have adequate cold storage to do it ourselves in camp.

All I can say is that I am so very disappointed with this service. Paying $450 just to be robbed puts a serious damper on an otherwise epic hunt.

If you choose to go with AGP I would advise you give incredibly explicit instructions, weigh your starting quarters and take the time to conduct an inventory of the yield before you pack it into a cooler and take home.

I hope whomever has the rest of my elk is enjoying it. He was a brute.

*** My buddy who also left his bull with AGP only got 88lbs from his 5x4. What kind of criminal tries to play off a mature bull elk as a 88lb yield? Absolutely disgusted. Avoid avoid avoid.

Brought an elk in for processing and they said out meet was dirty. We had over 2 ft of snow were we quartered it. Then when we called back
The said it has some fur in it .. they didn’t call they just threw away out tender loin and 1 of 2 back straps .. all the neck and rib meat.
the elk quartered was 302 lbs we got back less than 120 lbs

This was from a large 5x5 elk

Amazing beef and steaks (all I've got so far). Not sure what I like better between the Jerkey and Waygu... even the regular ground beef is unmatched in town.

Found out this the place the locals all know about and use. Scott and his crew are great and very flexible with your order. Fair price and quick turn around on your order. Pro tip, have them grind bacon into your elk burger it’s amazing. ~Arnie
