I recently had my kitchen remodeled by Murtha Construction, and I must say they did an absolutely amazing job. I am still receiving compliments on how great my kitchen looks and also my neighbors have mentioned how clean, quiet and professional the staff were. It gave me peace of mind knowing that I was able to trust Murtha Construction with my home while I was at work. They were very reliable and dependable. Steve Stica kept me updated on the work that was being done and was always available to answer all of my questions and concerns, this was a huge help since this was my first time having work like this done. I would definitely use Murtha Construction again for all of my home improvement needs and will highly recommend them.

I have used Murtha Construction for over 20 years. They have done an extension, remodeled my kitchen, bathroom and living room. Murtha Construction is the best in the business ! After Superstorm Sandy dumped 3 feet of water in my house I was in a panic. I called Mike and he sent his crew the next day to gut the downstairs of my house. All his workers are courteous, professional and craftsmen. He redid my house in a timely manner. Murtha stands by their work and will address any issues you have. If something needs to be adjusted ..no problem.

Whenever I have work to be done in my house I use Murtha Construction. Don't bother calling anyone else, they can't compare.

I never write reviews, but my recent experience with Murtha Construction compels me to do so. It was suggested to me to have an energy audit done on my home because of the incentives that were available to reduce my heating bill. I did some research and had Murtha come in to perform a free energy audit. I was prepared with a few names, but I felt confident after having the audit done and meeting with Michael Storey that this company had my best interest in mind.
From the time I called to set up the initial appointment through the job being completed, I have received nothing but friendly, courteous professional treatment. Everyone who I came in contact with from that company was excellent whether on the phone or in person. They were all knowledgeable about what I needed and didn’t try to sell me anything more.
When the contractors came in to do the job, I was amazed at how polite and considerate the whole crew was. They went over and beyond what I expected and didn’t leave a stitch of debris behind. I never would have known they were there except for the fact that my home is a lot warmer and I am already saving on oil. I found their dedication and commitment to be outstanding. I highly recommend them.

Buying a home on Fire Island that needed extensive renovations could have been a headache, but Mike made it easy for me. Responsive, creative, thoughtful, and a real problem solver. My wife and I contacted our local utility company to inquire about making our home more energy efficient. We were put in touch with MURTHA CONSTRUCTION from West Islip, NY. We made an appointment that was convenient for us, and promptly received a FREE ENERGY AUDIT which was conducted by Mr Jim Carpenter and Mr. Michael Murtha Jr.

On the day of the audit, both men arrived punctually, greeted us, and explained what they were going to do during the tests. Jim and Michael gave us a top to bottom, comprehensive survey of our homes energy efficiency, areas where we can make improvements, and the potential monthly savings we could have with the recommended improvements. Everything was explained in meticulous detail, and all of our questions were answered on the spot. We subsequently met with Mr. Micheal Story, (also from Murtha) who explained all of our options for having the work performed, and helping us to incorporate the costs into our budget. At no time did we feel pressured to make this investment. Mr. Story made the whole process go smoothly and we were so impressed by what we have seen so far that we decided to go forward with all the recommended improvements.

The work was scheduled within a week or so, and again, the men that came (Louis, Pedro, and Michael Jr) arrived exactly on time, explained what they were going to be doing over the work period of two days, and immediately started to get to work. While they were working in my home, all of the men treated my home, children, pets, and possessions, as if they were their own. After the work was completed, everything was cleaned so meticulously that there was no evidence of any construction/work being done. All of the workers were friendly, and it would be a pleasure to have them in my home again.

My wife and I waited to write this review a few weeks, to verify the energy efficient improvements were worth the effort and cost. We initially noticed that the house seemed "quieter", and had half the amount of everyday dust. We were even more surprised when we received our utility bill the other day and it was approximately 40% LESS than normal.

We can't say enough about MURTHA CONSTRUCTION, only that we highly recommend them, and regret not contacting them sooner. Don't hesitate to call and get the free energy audit, you will not be sorry!

Bad experience. Be careful. Murtha Construction sent poor quality subcontractors to our house. Roof shingles came out after three weeks. Windows and roof leak, rust on frames. The bowed window has improper support, which causes a risk of falling out of the frame.
