In 2014 my wife and I purchased a well preserved 1977 ranch home on an acre of property in Tempe, Arizona. The home was well taken care of with some “minor” upgrades required: electrical, plumbing, roofing, sewer lines and so on. We loved the house, we loved the property, and we loved the location, but really didn’t know where to start. Having known Jeff Cullember through friends and having seen the work he’d done on their homes, and several commercial facilities, we decided that if we were going to do this we would only do it if Central Construction oversaw the project.

Jeff looked over the property and made some suggestions, but most importantly he listened to what our vision was and ran with it. He solicited design support from David Arambula who embellished our vision in a collaborative effort. Jeff’s unique relationship with his sub contractors was important to us as their input was highly regarded. For example, one of the most important things for my wife was a lot of light in the house; we needed to bring the outdoors inside as best we could. The collaboration between Jeff and the framing/structural team provided a solution that accomplished this by raising the back patio cover by 20 inches. End result… lots of light in through the 16 ft sliders on the back of the house. The other major change that we made was the removal of what use to be four rooms: living room, dinning room, kitchen, and family room. Fast forward, one big room. They moved the fireplace from the family room to where the kitchen was and moved the kitchen to where the family room was; this resulted in a truly open concept home.

Jeff, Central Construction, and his team were great to work with. They listened to what we wanted while providing critical input to come up with equitable solutions while maintaining our vision. End of the day… this place is awesome.
