On recommendation from a friend, I contacted Spence fence company for an estimate, the gentleman did come out. He looked at it and said it was job that was a little too small for them but they do have other people they can recommend to me, but they would get back to me with an estimate. I have now waited 10 days for an estimate with no response. I will be going elsewhere now.

I have used this company for 30 years on various jobs and have always been satisfied with their service and workmanship. I recently needed a wrought iron hand rail to go down my front steps at my home. They had to match existing hand rails at other entrances. It is beautiful!!! I couldn’t be happier.

Hiring Spence Fence in Visalia, California is NOT something I’d advise! I'll reserve some comments because I feel this will wind up in court... Spence Fence was hired to replace a section of my shared fence and was to use steel posts versus wood. The wood posts of the fence, which they also installed as a contractor hired by my home builder, were less than five years old and had rotted through, but the warranty was only good for one year. So through involvement of my home builder, Spence Fence was hired to replace a section of the fence. Spence Fence not only placed the new fence in the WRONG place (no excuse as they first removed the old fence that day and still wrong even with considering difference in post sizes), they also used a wood that is different from the rest of my existing fence, left black mold spots and unsightly ink stamps all over the fence, made deep gouges in other parts of the fence, left my side a mess, plus many more bad workmanship issues. The lead installer didn't speak English, acted like he really didn't care, and his translator couldn't get him to listen. Even though I supplied them with images that clearly showed the problems, they refused when I asked for them to simply send over the reviewer who first visited or another representative with whom I could effectively communicate with so I could show them all the issues.

Did an excellent job! In fact I think I'm going to have them come back and do a section that I didn't want to have done at first, but now I think I'll go ahead and do it. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever with the wooden fence or the chain link!
