Customer service needs retraining. I spoke to a gentleman who couldn't manage to give me a single straight answer on more than one thing. He kept talking in circles, then would disappear for 60 seconds at a time throughout the call. He then eventually hung up, because he couldn't give me the date of payment, which I was asking for. Spend 20 minutes on a call with zero progress.

Throughout all my years working in sales and customer service, I would absolutely never.

If your set up for automatic payments, there's a banner that says, "payments will be processed automatically, no action is due at this time" this is not true. The original payment did not process as it was flagged as fraud, after correcting the issue with my bank, the payment was set to reprocess and they cut the water off prior to scheduled payment date. (mind you, this is only for ONE single month's payment)

You're then required to pay for a reconnection fee, but if you're not home, you're paying for them to leave direction for YOU to reconnect your water.

Called back and received the adequate information from a lady who took the time to find the answers for me, which only took 5 minutes in the end, but such a sour taste from someone who clearly was having a bad day and an overall poor business quality.

Will be escalating the issue going forward.

Very unprofessional. I haven’t had sewage for a week because when they turned off the water, they also turned off the sewer shutoff valve. 3 days after the water was back turned on, the sewer line burst. I WILL conduct legal actions if it isn’t rectified.

As many others before me have stated, this is THE worst water company in the state, possibly in the country. Not only did they turn the water on at the wrong address, but after I complained they told me they "went back and listened to my original call" and that I had told them the wrong address. Since I assume that... you know... I know my own address, I asked to hear the call myself, or at least for them to send it to me. They told me no. Ergo, I am forced to conclude (with no proof otherwise) that they are liars as well. In conclusion, this company is enough reason to move to Florida.

I have a broken sewage pipe that leads from my house to the main tie end that’s on WAWSS side. I had to pay a licensed plumber to find this out, the problem has been there possibly for years without me knowing, because the road is caved in where huge trucks/buses and cars run over daily. I reported this problem to MAWSS on 1/28/2025 and they sent a team of inspectors out and confirmed that the problem was MAWSS’s. I believed this same problem caused a slab leak at my house that costed me $3,600 in repair work because it’s a cast iron sewage line that runs and connects to my slab, and road traffic was constantly running over the caved in road concrete, which crushed the sewage line. I stated this to the “call in line” after one month of waiting on someone to come out and fix the problem, but she said that wouldn’t cause a slab leak at my house. I can feel the vibration in my home every time a vehicle runs over the caved in road, so what does she knows that I don’t know about my own home? Here it is 3/21/2025 almost two months later and no one has come to fixed the problem, and I have called several times, and they keep saying it’s on a work order. It seems like I’m going to have to get the local news station involved, which I truly hate to do!!!

On 24 Feb 2023, MAWSS had to come out and fix a reoccurring problem, sewage was backing up into our tubs from the street (again). The repair crew said the first crew from a year earlier did not fix the problem, they just basically put a Band-Aid on it. I was told that a crew would be out within the next 90 days to remove the blacktop that was put on the curb and sidewalk in front of my house. It has now been 173 days and still no sign of anyone to fix the two remaining parts of the repair.

This is the worst water company in the state of AL and probably the United States! You can be days late, contact them ahead of time, and they will tell you whatever just to get you off of the phone! Then when you get the late bill with a disconnect notice on it, they will tell you it is due by the disconnect date! This place is a disgrace and should not be able to provide water to Mobile AL residents! It is not right!!!!

These people have scammed my associates time and time again, charging them 100 dollars and then having another 100 for reinstallation. When asked why they just paid 100 the first time, the answer was "Hmm, I don't know why they did that. Either way you have to pay this." Genuine scum.
