They charge a 2% fuel charge for their trucks. They don't even have to come read the meters anymore. Fuel is a fixed cost and should be included in your rate. If they are running on such a thin margin that we have to buy their gas they need new management. $65 fuel charge!

One of the most basic things you could do is to call someone if their water consumption goes up by 300x
I had a pipe burst and had no clue until 3 months later i realized i was broke. Because the Sylacauga Utilities Board found it fine to just accept my auto pay that was 300x the regular bill.
For 3 months they did not call or semd a single letter.

If a single other water authority opened that provided for Sylacauga, the Utilities Board would go out of business that same day.

Running a monopoly and making the citizens just deal with it.

I’ve had so much going on this month, remodel at work, my mother, I take care of being in hospital, and running her back and forth to doctors, having adhd doesn’t help either. Been a customer of theirs since 1987 and have always payed my bill. Completely forgot to pay it. Called them up they said my power would resume promptly, with payment, so I payed and payed extra to reconnect! Well they can’t get my power back on until morning, maybe! So it’s 9:30 at night no lights I’m burning up with no alarm clock to get up at 2am , everything in my refrigerator is thawing and ruining, no power to get ready for work and no coffee when I do! Way to go Utilities board, nice way to be to a long term customer. Could give a curtosey call, to customers that always pay their bills! Struggling before, struggling now with no power, and paid in full!

Can't stand the place. Was paying by check but took them a week and a half to deposit it. Went to debit card now it gets applied and disappears all in one day. Watch your bank accounts people because if you're not careful you'll bounce. Caught them doing this twice now. Guess it'll be cash from now on. This is what a monopoly can do!

They try not to laugh when I am stalking them to see what infrastructure crises we are experiencing now. I don't pester them but they know if they have to rope of a work detail for lunch or overnight my curious self is gonna try to see if I can find a sinkhole in that general area.

They are charging my mother 85 dollars a month for barely usable internet and wont do anything about it.

This is because I’ve been trying to talk to a real person on the phone for 15 minutes and there is no option for that. Everything is automated and no way to talk to a real person.
