We visited from Miami on a cross country drive, and this was the closest vineyard to San Diego. They have a Groupon for wine flights for groups of up to 8, including $10 off coupons for take-home bottle purchases (their mini bottles make great souveniers). They do not sell hot food, but they have food trucks on site on the weekends, and they allow food deliveries to the location if you want to order some. They also have a build your own charcuterie option where you can select cold cuts and crackers for your table from their fridge. We had a great time. The property grounds have beautiful farm animals like chickens, cows, and goats as well as nice scenery and greenery for some nice family photos. The hostess wasn't incredibly personable with our group, but she made sure our glasses were filled and always came over with a smile when we needed her. We will gladly stop by again the next time we are in San Diego.

Best vineyard close to home!! I’ve been here countless times now and every time they surprise me with a new amazing wine! The staff is always so kind and helpful and food trucks on the weekend are always great and much needed! The view is just spectacular, would 10/10 recommend!

Wine tasting at Granite Lion Cellars was a nice treat on Easter Sunday. It was so relaxing and the catering service they had that day was excellent. We had steak, shrimp, rice, noodles and cranberry walnut salads, $14-$19.00 a plate. Yummy! We tried the sweet, white and red wine trays which added up to $45.00 for the three. The sweet peach was the best but, I forgot the proper name, but, just ask, it seems to be a people favorite. Not all the wines are from their vineyards but, they are from California. My family used to make the best Italian sweet red wine, it was so sweet and smooth, I guess I keep looking for it but, to no avail. I should’ve learned the secret.
If you’re looking for something to do on the weekend, do try their vineyards or even join their wine club for $74.00 a quarter. There’s a manmade creek but, it wasn’t on, something I was hoping for on Easter Sunday. If you buy some wine and head over to the play area you can bring your dog and have a wonderful day with family and friends. Not all the vineyards in the area allow dogs, so take advantage of it. I took lots of photos, so enjoy browsing.

I’ve lived in Chula Vista for close to 10 years and only made my way to this winery in Jamul this past year! It’s not easy to get to but it’s well worth the scenic drive. My girlfriends hosted a surprise party for me, and the venue and owners were incredibly accommodating for us. I can’t wait to return again soon.

The best part was the bartender. He was knowledgeable about the area and just so fun to interact with. The beer and wine were good

A great getaway from San Diego! Red Wines were smooth with a descent flavor profile. Good people out there. My favorite: Troublemaker
