We just finished a whole house remodel in March of 2024. We called out a septic engineer and he told us that we had 10' of water in a 12' leach line. Our septic was failing and this was not something we were expecting to have to do. Our leach line was 24 years old and we had a 50+ year old tank that needed to be removed.

We called out a few septic installers but one of them wanted to nickel and dime us for every little thing they did and they didn't address our 50+ year old tank. Another septic installer told us that he was probably going to "sell his business in the next two years" because he was "burned out". He also seemed very irritated with our questions. When you are investing $30k into a new septic system, questions should be welcomed. The third proposal we received was strictly by email and the company never bothered to send anyone out to look at our job. Ugh!

Then came Andy Apolinar from A&R Excavating! He was amazing and not only welcomed our questions but went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable hiring him! We needed an alternate septic system made by Aerofin and we are SO glad we chose Andy and his team! They worked SO hard on our job and did everything right! Specifically, we loved every person that came out to work: Miles, Jeff, Blade & Wyatt were so knowledgeable and attentive to the job! They graded our whole yard beautifully and we have peace of mind with our new septic system. We don't have to worry about it backing up into our newly remodeled house!

I would 100% hire Andy and his team again if we ever needed excavation work done. In this small town, it makes sense to do business with people who are not only experienced but they WANT to do the job. Andy told us (before we signed his agreement) that when he finishes our job, his goal is to "put a smile on our face!" Well, he accomplished that for sure! Thank you Andy! You guys are the best in town!

Andy has helped me and a few of my friends and I have nothing but good things to say about his expertise. Andy and his entire crew of knowledgeable and seriously dedicated folks have no problems getting dirty and getting into the trenches...sometimes quite literally to get the job done. I am extremely impressed by A and R Excavation and how efficient and experienced they are in getting work done.

They also can tell you what works and what won't, making suggestions that can improve your excavation situation. Andy and crew also have lots of other experience in construction that ended up being very helpful in related jobs for my project.

We hired this company to do the excavation work for a sewer hook up at our home in Prescott. The excavation was satisfactory but we also had an agreement for them to do concrete work after the excavation. They did part of the concrete work but it was unsatisfactory. Andy Apolinari indicated that he would repour the concrete and also fill our old septic tank with concrete slurry. This was last November , 2019. The temperatures in Prescott dropped and Andy said he could not pour the concrete when it was so cold. Fine, we understood and were patient. When the temperatures warmed up we began to call to get the work finished. It was constant excuses, not returning our calls, etc. Rather than being professional about it and saying they didn't want to do this work, they strung us along for 3 to 4 months acting like they were going to do the work and finally just stopped returning our calls. We didn't berate them or yell, we just expected them to be responsible and do the work they had STARTED and agreed to finish. We now do not consider them trustworthy or professional and recommend if you do contract with them , get starting dates, completion dates, and financial penalties for noncompliance included in the agreement. We lived up to the agreement and paid our bill, they did not. What a crummy way to treat people and do business.

Andy and his crew have helped us on several projects. He has put in a new road in the front of our property and also put in a raised foundation for a building on our property. He is super good at what he does and is a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing his services. He has the years of experience that will make any customer happy!

We had used A and R Excavating to water down our horse show events. Water truck was always filled up and they even ran the truck for us. Very nice people to work with. Kept the ground damp and not to muddy. Highly recommend them.
