I'm sure the local people working for Amerigas are good, but the rest of the company......WOW is all I can say. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. Every time I call for service, I get someone who doesn't speak English. Just to order propane, I had 4 phone calls and every one of them were 35-45 minutes. Was put on hold many times in every phone call. Finally got an order date set for delivery, but the driver no showed. The next time it was scheduled, the driver said he couldn't find my house. Amerigas has been there several times already and the fire number is posted at the end of my driveway. Another phone call to talk to someone who didn't speak English which lasted 45 minutes. At the end of the call I was so frustrated I just asked for a refund for the full tank I was already charged for. Still waiting to see if I get a check for the refund. I hate to do it, but am taking my business to a company with local customer service that speaks English.

Update: I had a new tank installed by a local company and had the amerigas tank placed in the driveway for pickup. I called amerigas to request the tank be picked up. Again, I talked to someone that barely spoke English who put me on hold for almost 30 minutes. I hung up and called back but this time I got someone that spoke a English a little better. The final bill was $399 to cancel their horrible service and have the tank picked up. The nightmare with this company continues.

Absolute horrible customer service, why are so many midsize companies going this route, no way to come in and talk with somebody locally, have to deal with a horrific automated telephone service, can never reach anyone. In addition to that, they want to charge exorbitant fees to merely pay with your credit card online.

As a customer, I resent the credit card fee you are now passing on to us. Because your product heats our home, we have no choice but to pay the fee or give you all our banking information. Paying by credit card is the safest way of money transfer that protects us both. Please go back, accept the fee as a cost of doing business and know that all your payments will be paid on time.

Worst Company i have ever dealt with. There customer service is awful. I have been trying to get a tank installed since may 13th. I paid for a site survey and the guy no showed the first time. He then showed up 4 days later after i rescheduled and told me he had no idea he was suppose to be here and gave me his direct number to call him and a list of things to have done before he could do the install. I completed those with the help of a plumber and called to schedule the install of the tank. I had a date scheduled and they did not show up. Everytime i call his direct number he will not answer I call their customer service number and they say they will have someone from service call me and they cant transfer me. The person from service never calls. I am writing this on july 22nd. I have been trying to get the tank installed or a date or to talk to someone for 52 days. I have a generator, cabin and hot water heater that i can not use and i have to leave in 7 days. I have had to cancel peoples trips who were coming to stay and lost revenue thanks to the incompetence of this company. I cant even begin to explain how bad they are, they also started charging my credit card which i provided for the tank they they never installed. I have drove to their office but it is not open to the public, I have left notes on the door. TERRIBLE COMPANY AND TERRIBLE PEOPLE WORKING IN THEIR SOLDOTNA OFFICE! DO NOT USE IF YOU CAN FIND ANOTHER COMPANY

Update they called me on tuesday and stated they would be out Friday to install the tank. I hired someone to wait at the house to let them in and in true Amerigas fashion they no show no called again and when i tried to call in i spent 37 minutes of the phone with a call center who claimed they had no way to communicate with the service department. It is a shame you can not give a company a negative star rating

It was and still is terrible. I’ve been unable to talk to someone in the US about my bill. (3 calls to the Phillipines!). We were charged 140 for a leak test after we ran out of fuel. We were on an auto fill every 13 weeks and it had been 15 1/2 weeks since last delivered!)

Horrible customer service, agents don't seem to know what they are doing or how to resolve an issue. It was way better when we could contact our local distributer who acually knows our area, climate and location. Being located in Alaska is so different than the lower 48, we need local people that can actually get things done. I will be leaving Amerigas in the spring, going to go with a local supplier.

Russ was great!! He is professional, helpful and friendly. AmeriGas set an appointment for a site visit within a week and the installation of new service (1,000 gallon tank) was completed within 2 weeks. Also the price per gallon was reasonable. Overall, we are extremely satisfied.
