Mike and his team at Bad Idea are truly one of a kind. This custom flat top was a hit for Christmas this year. Top of the line American made products. Could not recommend more!

Left this review on their website which they promptly deleted.

"Unless you plan on never moving the pyro cage DO NOT BUY. It's a flawed design made for maximizing profit and not providing a good product.

Even the "Pro" version warps so bad on first use it becomes impossible to disassemble, as videos on youtube have also shown this.

Instead of fixing this design flaw the company just says "metal warps" even though an easy fix would be welding a small piece of angle iron in an X on each piece to prevent heat warpage, they instead maximize profit that is cut on a plasma table or water jet with zero post work except box and ship.

I understand metal is expensive, shipping it costs a lot, but to have such a simple solution to an obvious problem and not fix it for your customers is just negligence to the consumer."

Not to mention they delete all unfavorable reviews on their website. I’d rather give my money to a company who can take criticism and isn’t afraid to improve their products for the consumer.

We were looking for an outdoor fireplace. I contemplated a smoker in the past but didn’t want to invest in another grill. Came across the Pyro Tower and I could do both. No brainer purchase. Heavy duty, industrial conversation piece.

After a year of use, the Bad Idea burn cage is badly deformed and the fastening tabs will be the first to rot and break. This was only used occasionally to burn cardboard, never lumber nor firewood. A 55-gallon drum would have faired better, and at a fraction of the price. It was a Bad Idea buying this burn cage.

The service and products were awesome. The burn cage was tough 3/16 steel and SUPER efficient, hence the warping. It held up tight and we burned a TON with it!!!
