Stopped in for a quick bite and drink while antiquing. They have a small food menu of shareable bites and quite the beer list. Small place, downstairs lounge, great place for meeting up with friends. Will definitely be back when in the area.

A huge shout out to Kayla and Justin! I had my birthday party in the downstairs lounge last weekend and they went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. Many guests had never visited Bear Hands before, and a great time was had by all. Thank you for your helpfulness, while providing a fun environment for my special occasion!

We were disappointed that they don't have the full food menu any more. I loved the Beer Braised Brat...but I get it, if you don't change with the times, you won't survive. The beer is still great, the service is still great. The flat bread pizza is great also! Still love the place!

This was the second time I've visited and it was absolutely amazing! The food is top notch every time. The staff is always friendly and goes above and beyond to make a great experience. Then, the establishment itself is extremely clean but warm and welcoming and the decor throughout makes it easily a memorable experience!
The bathroom sign... I couldn't help but get a photo which resulted in a field trip for everyone to see! Excellent

Never having heard of Putnam, I was even more intrigued to see that a brewery was there, nestled into a revitalized historic district. It was well worth a long jaunt to visit- Bear Hands is a gem!

The Brick Wall Eatery (inside) provided superior flavor with the fare - not bar food at all! Pictured is the Smoked Chicken & Beer Cheese Dip, which was incredibly good! Also shown is the White Pizza, which had a punch of garlic and onion. Also shown are the Smoked Chicken Sliders with tangy, golden Carolina mustard. This is a fantastic place to grab grub, even if you’re not a beer aficionado.

The beers were on point as well; with an IPA that had dank, piney flavor and a fruit beer that was the perfect summer beverage.

Out of all the breweries I've tried, Bear Hands has been my favorite. The atmosphere is laid back, with no tvs, minimal "table side" entertainment, and great drinks. They have a food menu that is not prepared by them but still serve the tables via mobile ordering.

My only "complaint," which it really is more of an observation, is that they have one bathroom. This did not end up being an issue in any way.

I ended up getting a flight of beers on tap as well as a flight of mixed drinks. All of them were so much better than I was ready for.

10/10 I can't wait to come back!

Bear Hands is for sure my favorite brewery. The service is excellent, the food is excellent and most of all their beer is excellent! They have a way with sour ales that doesn’t compare to any other brewery! In addition to beers they also have a great selection of liquors (whiskey, scotch, vodka), and rotating martini flights!
