Our full kitchen renovation project was recently completed by Bencar Building Systems LLC and we couldn't be happier. From beginning to end they are a fantastic contractor to do business with on this type of project. Their attention to detail was obvious from our very first estimate appointment and continued the entire way through the project. We have worked with many contractors over our 24 years in our home and have dealt with several contractors who act like they are doing you a favor, don't follow up, and don't adhere to schedules. Bencar is collaborative, responsive and attends to every detail. When we started exploring contractors for this job we approached two other kitchen remodeling companies and they both presented obstacles at the outset with poor follow up, not listening to our goals or worse designing the kitchen they thought we should have instead of the one we wanted. Bencar was the obvious company to work with right from the beginning as they explained in detail how they would perform the job, walked us through the process, referred us to the team at Bender in New Haven for cabinets, counters and fixtures as well as a great kitchen designer in Daryl. The planning stage was incredibly smooth. The construction phase was equally smooth with our crew of Evan and Rocco with support from Lisa, Mark, Nancy and Cody in the office and in the field. Bencar has a great reputation in the area and they lived up to that reputation. Within two hours of day one of construction we knew for certain we had made the right choice. Everything was so wonderfully executed and it was impressive how seamlessly all the different parts fell into place from deliveries, to tradesman arrivals, to demolition and on site necessities.Very clean work and absolute respect for our home. We had very high expectations for the finished product and we can honestly say the finished product has exceeded our expectations! We would strongly recommend Bencar Building Systems for your kitchen remodeling project.

We recently had the pleasure of working with Bencar Building Systems LLC for a complete remodel of our primary bathroom, including the installation of a custom shower. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional.

We had our raised ranch kitchen, dining area, and living room made into an open concept space. Bencar was incredible to work with from our initial appointment to its completion. We were given a schedule of the project so we knew what to expect each day. They arrived on time daily, cleaned up each day, and made sure everything was done perfectly. I cannot say enough about our New kitchen. Our selection of Bencar Building Systems over two others is one of the best decisions we have made. From day 1, when our initial visit with Nancy and Mark Benson took place, I was running late, so my spouse got me on the portal and immediately I knew, I had run into good people. It was like speaking to people I knew. They were professional, yet warm, embracing our conversations but evidently listening within the conversations understanding our wishes and taste. I initially contacted them after my brother had work at his home by Bencar and I was impressed with the quality of the overall not only of the material, but of the workmanship. My brother recommended them to me, so I was inclined to consider them.
After their visit, they diligently contacted me with the drawing which was perfectly on point the first time (previous considered company took 2 months and still provided 3 drawings of absolutely nothing we had spoken about). But from Bencar, all was like smooth sailing. When minor details of one vs. two windows was agreed upon it was like smooth purr of a kitten. The day arrived, spoke to Lisa from the office, Cody came over, Evan, Rocco, and Greg and Craig and Especially Evan and Rocco were here throughout the project. I cannot say enough about all these guys and how they are. From the pictures I've uploaded you can appreciate the absolutely beautiful and spectacular huge kitchen we have now. We knocked down a wall, (Kitchen/Dining dividing wall) and eliminated two windows and installed one over the sink. On the outside of the house, not only is the one window great looking, but you cannot even tell there were two windows unless you take the entire kitchen down to the studs.
Another big concern was the tile on the floor, which we really enjoyed and wanted to extend it through the entire layout, was where the wall and former dining room met. Same thing with the ceilings. Well let's just say, The Tilers, the sheet rocking, electrical, the walls, the moldings, the cabinet installation, installation of light fixtures, the hood above the stove, and just everything was done with nothing but the best quality of workmanship and covering every detail smoothly. You cannot tell, nor does it look added or afterthought, it looks like this is the kitchen since day one of this home. They provided a schedule and followed it actually exceeding the expectations as the amount of progress they had daily was astounding. We were just blown away every step of the way. It was like dealing with family or close friend but knowing and feeling the confidence they are doing things like they would for their own home. I did not have to be home supervising their every step, yet noticed every single time I would check in or hang out at home, because I do observe just don't like to be on top of people. I saw things and the thoroughness of how they were thinking of how things would need to be done to have the proper support for such appliances yet keeping them where they should be for effective functionality, yet structurally sound and just one solid job from day 1. We have nothing but praises and absolute gratefulness and are in LOVE with our kitchen.
I have no doubts I'll be using Bencar Building Systems, again and probably again, and oh yes, and probably again. I'm always thinking of something and have no doubts working with them it will be a success! It will get done right with all the proper permits, like everything should be and was done throughout my kitchen. Thank you, All of you, Thank you Thank you Thank you.

We hired Bencar to remodel our kitchen. From the moment we first met Mark and Nancy, we knew we called the right people. They were very friendly, confident, and extremely responsive answering all of the questions that we had.

When we decided to move ahead with the project, they provided us with a timeline of when we could expect certain milestones to occur. It was a 6 week project and they were right on time with everything - no exaggeration! Communication was excellent. Everyone responded quickly to phone calls, emails, and text messages. Mark was frequently onsite, especially towards the end.

The two carpenters, Evan and Rocco, were hardworking, professional, and friendly. They both were very detail oriented and worked hard to ensure that everything was exactly the way we wanted. Evan is a true craftsman and he really took ownership of the project. There were things that I was satisfied with that he wasn't and he wouldn't stop working it until he was!

The subs that were hired for the flooring and backsplash, electrical, and plumbing were also very professional and had the same level of care that everyone else had. The same goes for all of the people at the Bender showroom, namely Daryl and Danni.

I could not recommend this company enough! We will be hiring them again for future projects without even wasting our time talking to anyone else.

We love our new bathroom and master bedroom. Mark, Nancy and the whole Bencar crew did a fantastic job, from new hardwood floor through getting rid of the popcorn ceiling. The bathroom, which involved moving walls and custom glass work is flawless.
The reason we went with Bencar is simple. Through the years we have used them many times for different jobs, including them handmaking a railing for the front porch. They show up when they say, CLEAN UP every day, and stay until it's done correctly.
We trust the upfront honesty and quality (which take time) as does the rest of their clientele, I am sure.

The entire Bencar team was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. I really enjoyed my continual communication with Cathy in the office were she was always keeping me updated on what was needed and to come as well as a great help when I was stuck in decision making. Cody and Evan were not only a pleasure to have in our home, but their work left little to be desired. We couldn't be happier with the quality of our new kitchen. Every day they left the site clean and safe; everything was seamless and even the unexpected was handled professionally and quickly. Both Cody and Evan as well as John the electrician went above and beyond with their patients and kindness to our 2 young boys who every day woke up with such excitement asking when the workmen were coming. They were all so understanding and even took the time to teach them a thing or two.
We would like to greatly thank Mark and Nancy and the entire Bencar team for giving us our absolute dream kitchen! It is very obvious the quality and compassion that comes with a family own company. We will always keep them at the top of our list for any future home improvements and would highly recommend them to all.

A great experience from start to finish, and the final product looks amazing. Mark & Nancy were great during planning phase and throughout the entire process to extend the exiting house roof over the existing elevated deck. The crew (Greg & Craig) had great attention to detail and kept the site clean over the 4 week process. Will definitly use them again for other projects.
