I stopped in to ask a favor, to cut (4) metal pieces 1/4" thick x 2.5"
No questions asked, the gentleman that greeted me took the metal pieces to the shop and in a few minutes returned with the pieces cut and edges ground smooth, far better than I could have done with a hacksaw and file. The price charged was very reasonable.

I love my custom designed iron door from Big Red Iron, Jr. These people and their products are the best! My parents purchased a door here about 10 years ago and recommended them. I love the design that Jim and I came up with. I recently had an issue with my 2 year old door sticking on the threshold (likely due to the house settling a bit) and my parents threshold had come loose on top due to years of wear and tear. Jim happily came out and fixed both quickly and efficiently with no charge. He even repaired an ill-fitting latch on my parents iron gate that he did not build or install. He noticed it and did the repair voluntarily.

We ordered a custom iron entry door and surrounds. We interviewed several companies and ultimately decided to go with Big Red Iron, Jr.

Our design was completely custom from the size of the door, to the design on the door, to the custom digital entry lock, to the three tone paint.

As a Realtor, I see hundreds of local homes and expressed my concerns over how the bottom (threshold) of the iron gate would come out. I was assured that they had a custom design they came up with years ago that made this safer and addressed the concerns I often see (trip hazard) raised by inspectors. I remained leary but wanted to be fair and give them a shot.

During the final measurement just prior to install I became aware that the exterior wall that the surrounds would attach to was not perfectly straight (not their fault but instead the home builder). Again I expressed my concern about how this would look aesthetically with the final product considering my wall was not straight. I was assured they would do everything in their power to make up for this, even though it obviously wasn't their fault.

The final product was nothing short of perfect. It exceeded every expectation we had. The threshold that I was so concerned about was hands down the best I have ever seen. Though it's simply a safety feature, it was also a work of art - down to the radiused corners and seamless integration. The uneven wall I lost so much sleep over ended up nearly imperceptible due to their skillful care and attention to detail. The design came out exactly as sketched out at the time of our estimate. As a bonus the project was completed on time, something I rarely see in the housing industry.

We literally could not be happier with Big Red Iron, Jr and I would not hesitate to recommend them. In my opinion the price was very fair considering that nothing was standard and we got every custom request we asked for.

I contacted Big Red Jr to build and install a small patio gate. The owner came out to give an estimate and discuss the particulars. I waited for the time frame which was anywhere from three to four weeks. I called on the fourth week to see if the gate was ready and when it would be installed, a date was given which happened to be a day I was not going to be home. After assuring me that I didn't need to be home, Big Red Jr installed the gate. When I returned home that evening the gate was up, so I went to have a look at the work. What I found was a gate with a poor paint job, a scratch or dent in the wire mesh, and to top it off a broken piece of concrete where the gate had been attached, and a feeble attempt to repair the damage. The next day I called Big Red Jr to complain about the workmanship and the damage to the concrete. I was told that they could come out and remove the gate and repair the problems, I told them that I didn't want the gate removed again ( I would fix and paint the scratches myself, but I would like them to repair the concrete, the owner said they would come by and repair it when they where in the neighborhood, this was three weeks ago no repair has taken place. Poor, Poor service from start to finish !!
