I Shop here about 4 days a week.
Customer service is good especially seafood. What I don’t like is the deceptive advertising on the shelves. They put the labels up like 2 for $4. They put these labels right in front of an item that is not part of this sale. But it may be the same brand. The only way to tell the difference is if you have a magnifying glass to read the fine print. Or just put it in your cart and remember to have the cashier check to see how much it actually is. I just think this is deceptive because most people would just put it in their cart and think they are getting a sale. If you ask me, I don’t think that’s very ethical.

Did grocery shopping here twice while I was visiting my son & daughter-in-law to help out with their new baby and toddler! Both times I wished that I had the same store where I live on Long Island!

Great store. Staff is incredibly friendly. A young gentleman, (I believe his name was Zach), went above and beyond this past visit. My grandmother was really craving a particular flavor of a chobani flip. We were looking around the yogurt area with a bit of confusion. He asked us if we needed help and directed us to the section of chobani yogurts. He even went as far to grab the two flavors she wanted and handed them to us. He was extremely polite, kind, and genuinely helpful. We appreciated his customer service and willingness to help. He is a great employee. The store was clean and well stocked. I really enjoyed the accessibility in finding staff members willing to help. Some stores it can be hard to track folks down. Not this Big Y! A+.

You're gonna pay a little more here than if you rolled into a S&S or Aldi. But you're getting a wider variety of choices than anywhere else within 30 minutes, and they have the Gas Station directly across the Street which is competitively priced even before you use reward points for Gas. Plus they make brick oven pizza on site.

NEVER EVER COMING BACK HERE AGAIN.
Have never been disrespected like this in my entire life. One of the managers called Maureen indirectly called me a thief. I initially wanted to buy 2 sauces from the wing bar but I decided not to because I bought a big ranch dressing. I asked my son to return the sauces to aisle. The manager(MAUREEN) came to me speaking out loud (everybody turned to look at us) that where is the 2 sauces? you need to scan them. I told her I don't need it anymore and I asked my son to return it. She said I apologize and I calmly said apologies not accepted. On a second thought, I felt that was too disrespectful because this is a public place and that is very much unnecessary and unprofessional creating such a scene. She could have called me and ask me in a low tone calm manner. I reported her to one of the supervisors who promised to talk to her but I know that will not happen. After I reported her, she was now calm and lied that she just wanted to help (LIAR). How do you help a customer with such a question, assumptions and tone?

Big Y in Ellington, ct is the place I do my grocery shopping. I find the people working there are always helpful. I want to mention a particular employee in the bakery department...her name is Lauren.
I have had several occasions to place orders or I just needed help. Lauren always has a smile and she is very customer service minded. The cakes she decorates are the most beautiful and I usually ask for her when ordering. She goes above and beyond in servicing me and that kind of customer service is valued by me. She is a valuable employee and please make sure these comments go into her personnel file.
