We have been very satisfied with Corey's work. He completed a steam shower that is so beautiful. And handicapped it just as we requested.
We have had him back many times since.
Corey also repaired tile that was done by another contractor.
Whether a big job or small job,
he always aims to please and makes sure we are satisfied and the job is completed properly. He is on our speed dial.

I hired Corey Downs from Blackburn Construction to install a custom-made marble floor for my fireplace. The outcome was very disappointing. I gave him a photo of the floor, as assembled in the factory (the first photo), but he couldn’t figure out how to put it together. Rather than take his time, he just slapped the tiles down in a random order, which left large gaps and irregular shapes between the tiles. He tried to hide it by putting this black goo in the gaps, which only made them more noticeable. It was a disaster. In addition to the gaps, the floor ended up slightly rotated, so that it was out of square by an inch over a distance of only 6 feet. I don't think he ever understood where he went wrong. He kept blaming the materials, but as you can see in the photo, it all goes together well if the tiles are placed in the right position. My assessment was that he just didn’t have the skill, patience, or attention to detail for the job. He was nice enough, up until the point where I told him I wasn't happy. Then things turned sour very quickly. He showed up at my house, backed me into a corner, and demanded I pay him. It was like something out of a movie, complete with vague threats about what he was going to do to me. I ended up asking him to leave. He later emailed me and told me that he had recorded the whole interaction, and he would sue me if I told anyone he had threatened him. It was all very weird.

Corey was awesome. He did great quality work at a reasonable cost and was very up front about everything. We really felt lucky to find him since options are very limited here on the Kenai Peninsula. Highly recommended!
