Hartford airport is a very well-managed and clean airport and very easy to find your way around. We did notice that there have been several upgrades and improvements made since our last visit and all for the good. There are only two sets of gateways, A gates and B gates, which simplify getting around the airport. Unlike some larger airports, after we checked our baggage in at the Delta counter, we had to carry our baggage over to the TSA scanning machine, which is quite different to any other airport we have travelled through. The biggest change we found was the consolidation of all the rental car companies into one parking garage right outside the main terminal. You do have to walk a little once you exit the terminal but is no longer than 5 minutes. Makes your return much easier than having to wait around for a shuttle bus to take you off-site. There are several different shops and restaurants inside to choose from including McDonald’s, Dunkin Donuts, Starbuck's, Papa Gino’s, etc., but at airport prices. The airport is a very nice small-sized airport that is very clean, comfortable and the layout is conducive to the passengers’ needs.

Bradley International Airport as I lived in CT for over 20 years in the past I have seen all the changes and updates done at the airport. BDL is the Best Airport in CT and many other airports. Fast TSA check in, people who work at the airline gates do a fast check in and have great customer services, the TSA people are very friendly compared to many airports in the USA, I must tell you all my family from CT, RI & VT flight from BDL. Long term parking 🅿️ around starts at $7 a day, all the major rental cars are in the parking garage located and connected by the cover bridge to get to, just incredible. Thank you Bradley International Airport and everyone that works there, you make it all worthwhile Thank you.

The TSA people will tell you to leave everything in your bag and turn the bins. They have a particular way of how the bins go into the scanning machine. Also, they only require you to show your ID unless you have children. Then, you must show your ID and the child(ren) boarding pass. The rental car location is a very long walk, as well as getting to the terminal entrance from the rental drop-off. However, it's an easy process in and out of this airport.

Clean, functional, and efficient regional airport, an hour of New Haven. Surprisingly large, so be ready to walk as it can take a while to get from the rental car area to your gate. Plenty of restaurants and gift shops to choose from.

Small airport with quick security lines (especially if you have TSA pre-check) and an easy terminal access. This airport is much more manageable and low stress than the surrounding larger airports (e.g. JFK, LGA, BOS, etc.). There is one small lounge after security which is an easy walk from all terminals that provides a small but decent quality buffet, coffee, and other drinks and snacks.

Overall, a great choice for certain flights that still allow the cost to stay low (e.g. BDL->MCO) while giving you the convenience and low stress of a smaller airport.

Have only flown into BDL twice, but have been thankful both times. TSA lines super fast (pre-check), plenty to eat, easy to navigate, and it’s a large enough airport for a lot of destinations, but not so large that it’s overwhelming.
