I come here for mulch in bulk when I’m in the area. The staff are seriously the nicest people ever, and the mulch is cheap and great quality!

Great farm stand and store. Local ice cream with a number of flavors. They have a little pond with geese and ducks. They also used to have a little petting zoo with some goats and sheep but it was empty and overgrown so I'm not sure they are doing it anymore. Very picturesque. Also a great place to get pumpkins in the fall. Looks like they sell garden mulch as well.

Great place to bring your kids! Its a remote location where you don't have to worry about crowds, they have friendly animals and a beautiful pond with a ton of fish you can feed. Delish ice cream and beautiful flowers. Just a great place to go all around. My little one loves our trips to go see "donkey" πŸ™‚

False advertising on their website. They advertise themselves as a petting zoo, ice cream and a garden center. When I arrived the petting zoo was all overgrown and there were no animals present. When I asked where the animals were they told me up in their barn. When I asked if we could go see the animals up in their barn I was told no and laughed at. They need to take it off the website if they are no longer a petting zoo. It was one of the reasons why we went. They also were all out of soft serve as the machine was broken. They had a statue cow on the property that used to be one of the ones that you squeeze the udders and the water comes out so that you can milk it. That was broken as well. Many things were broken or not working at this place. Then we went to the little garden shop. The website shows an adorable little garden shop with many things for sale but that was not the case when we went inside. There was hardly anything in the store. It was just almost like one big empty room. And the items they did have out were just thrown in a jumble in boxes and broken things but being sold still. Things looked second hand. Inside the greenhouse many of the plants looked dead and the few that were alive had weeds growing out of them. This place needs major fixing up. What happened? You need to fix your farm up or change your website because your website is not at all Accurate anymore and is not a reflection of what your website shows. The only thing It had going for them was there hard ice cream but you can get amazing ice cream at UConn dairy bar and go visit the animals at the same time on horse barn hill, so why go here?

A Local favorite!! Icecream is SLAMMIN. Kids LOVE the petting zoo. If you stand by the pond you can watch cranes looking for fish to eat. You can spot fish, frogs, and turtles as well. They have a great wagon ride in October, and kids were given free pumpkins! They have an inside craft spot which is nice too, and a beautiful rock garden with a small path! The photo opps here are endless, for each season. Dzens is down the road, but Burke Ridge Farms has a more kid friendly experience. Plus there icecream tastes more homemade, and prices are better. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the picnic benches need to be replaced!!! They will give you splinters...ouch!! But once that issue is fixed it's the PERFECT family spot!! PS. THE PETTING ZOO IS SEASONAL!!!!

I'd hardly consider this a petting zoo. Go to the Granval Scoop then come here and see for yourself. They haven't offered soft serve ice cream in years....the entire place is in disrepair and dilapidated. It's a farm, not a petting zoo.
