Several times a year, I come to town to put on a lunch for our workers in the area who have had an exceptional performance year.
Being blue-collar manly men, their meal of choice is almost always a steak barbecue, to which I am happy to oblige.
My go-to for meats has been The Butcher Shop for several years. They are always friendly and take the time to understand what I am looking for, and are quick to provide recommendations if I am unsure.
They have provided samples in the past when I was hesitant to try new things (like the spicy sausages).
The meat itself is high quality, with the steaks being thick cut and tender.
I've never had any quality issues, and the customer service is always top notch.
They will be my go-to for as long as they remain in business.

Love these guys' best prices intown for the best meat. I stop here every time I'm in Tehachapi. Don't listen to the bad reviews they come from people with entitlement issues. Used to be my go-to place. I always got my Christmas prime rib I love the steaks and the specialty hamburger patties the 50/50 burger is the bomb I think that is what they call it it's a mixture of bacon and beef.. I had my first incident when I went in 15 minutes prior to closing to pick up some hamburger patties. "Sorry we are closed". Okay I let it go seemed odd but ok. Then this Christmas time I asked about getting some marrow bones in an emai, I was told they would not have any until after the first of the year. I reply okay please contact me when you get some in. I never heard back. I asked about it again in February and asked if I needed to go down to Bakersfield to get my meat and marrow bones. Crickets no reply. So I guess they are too busy for my business or don't care maybe they want to close.

I went into the shop for the first time 12/23. I was looking for a pork roast to make posole for Xmas. The gentlemen in the shop were so nice. He gifted me a ribeye steak after telling him I didn’t need any since I just bought some at Albertsons on sale. He asked me to cook his steak at the same time a steak from Albertsons and give a review. Myself, my son, and my daughter in law all tried it and yes the butcher shop steak was for sure more tender and a better taste , very fresh. I would highly recommend the steak at the butcher shop a more superior steak all around !!

The rib eye steaks were top-notch! I received great, attentive service from Chris (I think that was his name). Bottom line is...I will be back when I'm visiting my daughter in Tehachapi to try out more beef or some of the sausage!

Every time I go in the The Butcher Shop I leave happy and helped. Then later on in the evening, my stomach is thankful for the high quality meat and sometimes extra veggies and spices I bought. They have a VIP text message program that lets you in on special deals and extra savings. Definitely my favorite butcher. You won't be disappointed. The chorizo is especially excellent for breakfast, and you can never go wrong with sausage. Enjoy!

Won't be back, Went there to buy ribeye, Was told he would not cut my steaks, Because he wanted to go home at 6. I usually spend $80 there on steaks. Because I know they're good. Believe it was the night of the 18th the guy that has the gages in his ears. The reason why I have them cut is because they're too thick. So if I can't cut it , having to go somewhere else to buy Cheaper meat, Which was gross not anything like theirs. My guest were disappointed, I had invited people over for dinner.
