Awful company and customer service. The woman on the phone was brutal. Got billed an extra 3 weeks while not living at the property because of a "forced moveout", which was just a complicated and fancy way of the company saying that they didn't want to stop service upon my request. Be careful with them! They will gladly take your money if you give them an inch of opportunity 🙂

If I could rate them 0 stars I would. American water said I used 8,000 gallons in one month. I put in a 3rd party meter which says I average about 100-110 gallons a day. That’s 3,300 gallons a month. If I doubled my usage I wouldn’t hit the number they proposed. These guys are crooked.

When I try to get the local office, the line goes dead. I'd like to report truck #83112 running the stop sign today at Kimball and Noche Buena. I'm so frustrated with people not even slowing at stop signs. And then an idiot does it in a company truck. How ridiculous is that!!! I guess that's right in line with the phone support (none at all). What the hell is this world coming to

Our water color was murky red, I filled an inquiry online, it said they will respond within 24 hours.
There was a truck at my door within 10 minutes of the inquiry. The gentleman explained that a fire hydrant was hit a few blocks up and they fixed it, but some homes are experiencing this, he ran my outside water tap and tested the color.
While I was outside I had a missed call and a text, but I received another call from the same number after a few minutes, another rep from Cal AM asking how was my water and explaining what happened and how to fix it.
This all happened at 8:30 PM.
Thanks for responding so quickly and for all the help in fixing the issue.

Do not use their Auto payment. I was overcharged 500% more, randomly, for one month of water usage. The "customer support " team accused it of being a leak despite me telling them it was a misread and having proof of my meter. I was told the best they could do is POSSIBLY refund a credit to my water bill account after a full service inspection of the unit I rent and it's surrounding area. Being that I am a renter and a water bill credit that large would be ridiculous, it was not an acceptable solution.

I insisted on speaking to a manager, and I spoke to a woman by the name of Angie. Angie took my concern seriously and she was able to reverse the bill and ensure that the check was on its way. I probably won't be fully reimbursed for the next couple weeks, but I appreciate the care and attention that Angie showed to my issue. I really wish the other customer support staff was on the same page and had the same dedication to solving an obvious error on the behalf of American water. I would give Angie a five star on her efforts alone, but the rest of the customer service staff is less than helpful.

Nothing but errors on my last three bills absolutely awful company to deal with.
