I came into Cozy Creative looking to buy a new modern sewing machine after reading fantastic reviews about them. I can honestly say that the reviews are absolutely true. Peter and his staff (Maureen and Kathy) are so knowledgeable. My experience was very comfortable,they answered all my questions and I bought a beautiful new Janome 9480. Highly recommended. Cozy and Paradise are both owned by Peter who is by far a most accomplished business man. He is very knowledgeable concerning ALL the equipment and accessories he carries in his stores. He goes above and beyond to ensure his customers are completely satisfied, often giving things free with purchases. There are always classes at many levels often also free if you’ve purchased a machine from him. He employs people who are superior at their jobs whether it be customer service at the counter, delivery and setup, or classes. It is an absolute pleasure to visit Peter and his crews at either store. His are neighborhood establishments, and he treats his customers like friends.

I wholeheartedly recommend this shop. I have brought my sewing machines in for repair and each time I have, I have received the best service and fair prices. Peter is so welcoming and helpful. I am so happy I don't have to go so far to take my machines in for cleaning and repair. The store is clean and bright. Any questions that you have are answered right away. Peter is joyful and I have seen him helping his staff and treating them very well. I am looking forward to taking some classes there in the future and I wouldn't hesitate to send anyone looking for machines and quilting supplies.

Peter from Cozy Quilts is the best! I have bought several machines from him and have always received exceptional prices and outstanding service. The staff is always welcoming and helpful. In addition to Peter's service, he is a generous businessman. He has donated over a dozen new and used sewing machines, and sold many more at or below cost, to a non-profit organization in Guatemala. This organization, Fundamaya, provides Mayan women with sewing classes and a sewing machine upon completion of the course. The women also receive help with business strategies so they can set up a small business and earn a living. I recently approached Peter with a need for eighteen new machines for this year's graduates in Guatemala. Not only did he put together a package of machines at or below cost, but he bought the first one! Peter's service extends beyond the communities of El Cajon, Poway and San Diego all the way to Guatemala. He demonstrates that business and generosity go hand in hand! Thank you, Peter!

There are some salespeople with whom it is always obvious that all they care about is the sale, that behind every smile is the thought of you as just the next mark. Then there are those more skilled whom you can almost believe actually mean it, who are so convincingly earnest that you forget that you aren't actually talking to a peer and somehow spend way too much on things you don't need. Well, Peter and his crew at Cozy Creative Center are neither of these. These folks truly love what they do and the products they sell and want you to go home with the perfect machine for you, regardless of price. This is overwhelmingly clear every time I step into that La Mesa strip mall oasis. I could rhapsodize for pages on the good vibes and thoughtfully chosen selection and the sheer warmth of the staff but I will try and be concise (something I am clearly terrible at) and just say: if you're looking for a sewing machine, look no further than here. They'll find you *YOUR* machine. And if you already have yours and simply love sewing and want to meet others like you, there are classes all week long. I'll see you there!

I’ve been shopping at Paradise Sewing and Cozy Creative Center since their ‘new’ owner came to San Diego 4 years ago. I have to say, both shops offer the best prices I've found for sewing machines and supplies. The selection is fantastic – from machines to fabrics, threads, needles, sewing furniture and so much more. I’ve shopped around at other stores, but always end up coming back because the prices are unbeatable, and I never have to compromise on quality.
What really impressed me was their customer service. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and they offer great advice on everything from machine maintenance to fabric choices and hands on support in their clubs and classes. They even have regular sales and/or promotions that make their prices even better.
If you’re a sewist on a budget or just looking for the best deals, I highly recommend Paradise Sewing in Poway and now Cozy Creative Center in East County. You won’t find a better combination of price, quality and service anywhere else. You really can’t beat Peter’s prices.!
