Always helpful employees. The help to dispose of just about everything we need to get rid of. Most towns don't have a facility like this that is run well and actually serves the people who fund it.
I moved here from Meriden where you had to pay for EVERYTHING and they accepted almost NOTHING.

This is how you keep your town clean and tidy.

The employees here are very friendly. The transfer station is very welcoming. I actually enjoy going to the transfer station. I live in one town, i didnt ever want to go and take my garbage people were very cranky but not in East Haddam. The kids even seem to like going. Plus they have the bonus shed, for people to look and see if they want anything from there. I think they are pretty organized. I like the way it runs. Good Job !!!

I love how we have 4 days a week to go to our transfer station. Many other towns around us are only open only 2 days! I just wish that ours was open just a bit longer at the end of the day, but I just schedule my visits better. The crew there are very nice and friendly😊

Any person working normal business hours aren't able to get to the transfer station during the week so you're left with battling the rest of the town on Saturday. When you do get there in Saturday the bins out back are always full... every time! So you can't even get done what you want to. Apparently they can't be bothered with compacting the bins or lending any assistance unless you're a chick with a tight shirt. It's amazing too that if there's a holiday like new years that falls on a Monday, they can't even work a full day the Saturday before. So close at noon in Saturday, closed Sunday, closed Monday, closed Tuesday, then closed again on Thursday. Other towns close by have a couple short days and a couple late evenings-like 6 pm.. When someone can still get there after work. And I called old saybrook today... 12/30.. they're actually open till 5pm.

Hours listed on the website are incorrect. I went over to be there at 7 a.m. and the sign reads that it opens at 8 a.m. So needless to say I drove over to the Transfer Station and was unsuccessful. This caused a great inconvenience. PLEASE CORRECT YOOU HOURS OF OPERATION!!!!!!

There is so many nice people here and its really just a great environment for those dreaded trips personally though I would not recommend going on Saturday because oh gee its really busy
