Elk Fence Distillery in Santa Rosa is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm welcome by Shorty and Scott, who are not only incredibly knowledgeable but also bring a personal, heartfelt touch to the experience. They have an inspiring story of how they met and started this distillery, which adds even more charm to the visit.

The tasting room is beautifully designed, with super cool decor that blends rustic and modern vibes seamlessly. It’s a perfect reflection of their attention to detail and passion for what they do.

And the spirits? Incredible. Every single one I tasted was top-notch, but the whiskey and barrel-aged gin were absolute standouts for me. They’ve truly mastered their craft, and it shows in every sip.

If you're in Santa Rosa, do yourself a favor and visit Elk Fence Distillery. You’ll leave with great memories, a newfound appreciation for craft spirits, and maybe even a bottle or two!

Today we explored Elk Fence Distillery in Santa Rosa. Small batch single cask whiskey, vodka, gin, and barrel aged gin. The owner gave a fantastic tour of the operations and really helped us to understand to process to make spirits. The tasting was amazing. Amy's favorite was the barrel aged gin. I really liked the whiskey. Steven the vodka.

I'm looking forward to returning for the mixed drinks and sharing Elk Fence Distillery with friends.

Stumbled upon Elk Fence Distillery while heading to Mendocino and decided to stop by — so glad we did! We had a great time. Gail, one of the owners, was an incredible host — super welcoming, gave a fantastic distillery tour, talked to us through the tasting and really made the whole experience special with her hospitality. It’s a true microdistillery, so each bottle is unique, which makes it even more exciting to try their spirits. Each glass of the tasting was delicious and full of character. It’s a great small business and I’d love to come back again. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!

The Elk Fence Distillery tour and tasting was a fantastic experience! Gail held down the fort as my friends trickled in. Scott led the tour and we had so many questions for him! Quite the knowledgeable, passionate, and patient man. Gail welcomed us back to the tasting and shared her journey of creating Elk Fence Distillery. We learned the provenance of the glass bottles and the solid wood bar. My friend was familiar with the distillery so we had a great time doing a taste comparison of some of the offerings.

The vodka is smooth and crisp. My favorite was the juniper gin. I never thought I’d sip a gin. My friend’s favorite was the barrel-aged gin. Another spirit that I’ve never had before! The whiskey is rich and complex, with flavors of oak.

Nothing much more to say. Great way to focus on more local people. Next time I’d get a photo with the owners!

Wonderful distillery in the heart of Santa Rosa! They make my absolute favorite gin and the single malt is also fantastic. Owners are north bay local and very friendly. Hours are limited but a great space to hang out and sample some premium spirits. Highly recommend.

One definite local gem here! Delicious small batch Botanical Gin, American single malt barrel aged whiskey and vodka. Welcoming, friendly and small town vibe you won’t want to miss.
