We partnered with Ellis Builds in 2024 on an addition/remodel. It was a complex project in requiring navigating 100-year-old infrastructure in some areas of the house and needing to coordinate with a similarly sized landscaping project occurring concurrently. The team did a great job completing the project on spec, on time, and on budget while systematically communicating status throughout so there were no surprises. They collaborated well with our architect on the finer details where David’s strong sense of design and attention to detail improved our outcome. I would strongly recommend Ellis Builds.

Ellis Builds, David Ellis and his team (Fred Bivrell and Michael Gordon), were fantastic to work with. Our project was intricate and complex and was more than just a home build. His team handled each step and communicated with us daily to keep ourselves on time and within budget - even during COVID - which was not easy. Each member of his team was open to discussions and gathering information to make sure we, as clients, felt in control of the process. We cannot say enough about them. On a daily basis, we worked most closely with Michael Gordon (our site supervisor) and his "can-do" attitude and understanding of how to get a project done from start to finish was a huge win for us. Fred Bivrell was helpful with all budgets and invoicing. And David Ellis (owner of Ellis Builds), truly cares about the quality, craftsmanship and finding the right subcontractors to make the best product! Thank you, Ellis Team.

We hired Ellis Builds in 2018 to build our dream home. When we met David, Fred and their team it was very evident that they were in this business to help people transform their visions into a reality. They made it clear that they were not just in it to build a lasting home but lasting relationships with their clients. Our process with Ellis Builds started out with simply sitting down and getting to know each other and listening to how we needed the home to function to support our growing family as well as how we wanted it to look and feel. David is an excellent listener and displays compassion and care in knowing he is helping to create for a family one of the most important places – a home- where memories are created, where you feel safe and comfortable and protected. Ellis Builds was extremely organized in managing all the various subs and even completed our build close to the estimated completion date despite it falling during the height of the pandemic (which complicated so many aspects of construction). They have been established within the Boulder and surrounding community for decades which has allowed them to developed great working relationships with many of their subcontractors whom they use over and over on projects to provide the best quality work. Our job site was well kept, and you could tell that those working relationships translated into all teams taking immense pride in their work. We love our home and the quality is standing the ultimate test as we raise kids, dogs, and host friends and family. We couldn’t be more satisfied with how it turned out as well as glad that we chose Ellis Builds to take on the project.
