Kinda legal scam artists.
I owned solar panels to offset the rising electrical rates of Eversource. I managed to get onto a 1:1 net metering program before they changed it. All was fine for years, my bills would be the bare service charge of 9$ or whatever to cover their cost of golden invoice paper.
Then they tried to tack on some other fee for off-hours electricity which violated the terms of the program I signed up for. Example: I gave them 1000 kwhr a month and used 750 from the grid, they charged the fee for 750 even though I gave them more than I used). I called and had it removed but was never reimbursed for the few months they snuck it in on autopay.
Oh, and I once looked into just adding battery storage to avoid their sneak off-hour fees. I wasn't adding any additional solar, just storage on my own property, and they roadblocked the project - demanding 4k$ for "infrastructure upgrades to support".
Fast forward to moving. I had over 1300 KWhr banked in credits. They snuck another fee onto the bill "System Benefit Chg." and only paid out 3 cents per banked KWhr, so I had to pay them for the privilege of allowing them to rip off other customers with energy I generated. I wasn't expecting 1:1 on payout, but 3 cents when they're charging customers 40+ and another BS fee they snuck in that violated the program I originally signed? All while posting record profits year over year. This is why you need to regulate these companies.

My electric bill is astronomical. Their customer service is horrible and you can never talk to anyone. It’s a monopoly that’s totally taking advantage of CT residents.

If there was a way to give this company -50 stars I would be the first to do it. As of April my electric bill will go up from 326.to 480. a month for an 850 ft home on the Shoreline. REALLY? The fact that they are allowed to get away with this says volumes about the effectiveness of Gov. Lamont and Sen Blumenthal. If Eversource thinks it's okay to bill these OUTRAGEOUS prices to make up for any previous losses from other customers or whatever scams they are trying to pull is disgusting. Is customer service good? NO. Are there still outages with most big storms YES. Whoever is reading this and thinks Ct. is the place to move to you might want to crunch the numbers to see what you actually get for your money and what companies like this one will take advantage of you for their own greed.

Customer service is poor. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes, I was moved to the wrong department. I was disconnected while on hold for the "right" department. I had to call several times because the system requires you to specify the reason; when I did, it didn't comprehend and assumed there was a power outage. As a result, I had to make several calls.

Their services were tested over the past month, as we have had two bad storms over the course of 3 weeks. The first storm took them days, and for some over a week to recover power in many areas. That first storm at the beginning of the month was understandably difficult to come back from. No one was prepared. At least it was understandable until we found out we were being charged for the power to be turned back on. To top it off, yesterday was the second storm of the month. Not only did Eversource know what was coming (they sent out a warning to customers early yesterday morning saying they KNEW the power would go out), it will most likely take days to recover once again. And let’s not forget the charge we’ll all get hit with to have it turned back on. That shouldn’t even be legal. Overall, after trial by fire, I’d say many of us believe this company failed us. This review is NO reflection of the hard working men and women out there day and night fixing the damage- THEY are the backbone of the company!!!!

Absolute thieves! I've been living in the same apartment for 6 years and my usage was always the same until last winter when my usage went up 45% - 50% even though nothing change in my apartment as far as electronics and heat usage. This fall I spent over $200 winterizing my apartment to try and keep the usage lower and my last bill said my usage went up 26%. Impossible! Between more than doubling my usage rate and scamming me for usage I didn't use these vulture's are bleeding me dry.

MY ELECTRIC BILL WENT FROM AN AVERAGE OF $350 TO OVER $800 THIS MONTH, HOW CAN AN ELECTRIC BILL BE MORE THAN PEOPLE’S RENT, THIS IS INSANITY.

It is impossible to get a live person on the line with a detailed question. Getting past that stupid robot is maddening. No one returns my calls when I level a callback number. Awful service, huge bills.
