SCAM. They will charge you for gigs they cancelled on you. And if you confirm with them to take you off their service, they will add all the months they cancelled on you to an invoice and bill it to you anyway. I haven’t even made $150 with this company, over the coarse of 1 gig they successful found for me, versus the 3 they cancelled on me (because they’re mistake of not looking at my headshots and noticing I had face tattoos)… and they are trying to invoice me $135 now, for THEIR cancellation on me. This is in direct violation of our contract.

These people will only book you 1 gig per month, to fulfill minimal obligation in order to process your monthly charge. After the 1 gig, they already get your monthly payment, so why would they book you on other gigs? They want to make money, so getting as many different people only 1 gig, is how they make their money. They aren’t managing anything. They extort us, while pimping us out. The monthly fee, is most cases 25% or more of what you would even get paid for the gig. You practically work for free, while also having to update them on EVERY day you make plans for something else; which is literally everyday they don’t book me 29-59 days at a time. (Just like how a pimp wants you to check in with them). EVEN WHEN THEY NEVER BOOK YOU. The audacity, smh.. You guys are fired

The negative reviews on here are interesting to me because it seems they lack a big part of understanding this industry. I will say I do NOT get booked alot, but I also understand I am a different body type and age (plus size and in my 30s) also I am Union (most of the time there is more of need of non union for background). A company like extras can only do so much for you. If projects have requirements and are specific in what they are looking for, casting is going through what they have and giving them what they want. Also when you are putting your own money into it (The monthly fee) you are less likely to flake out, and I'm sure that is more appealing to serious projects who dont have time to be calling tons of people who dont show. I really enjoy this company, I've been with them close to 2 years. I was recently booked on a project because I looked like the person they needed to match physically and I was eventually upgraded to cast by the production. Came here to leave a positive review because I want others to know that CAN happen to them too! Extras management is there to give you the opportunities, but only by YOU being flexible, ready, professional, and hard working is going to get you anywhere in this industry.

One of the lower quality calling services. Back in 2019, booked me and sent me my text at 11:55pm for a 6am call time. Needless to say, I was already asleep. Even tho I woke up at 5:50, I found out I was booked as soon as I woke up, called the PA, let them know what happened, and left ASAP. I got to set probably around 7:15am called the PA maybe 1 more time just to let them know I'm otw, sorry, I was booked by extras management at 11:55p, I was already asleep, bla, he said don't worry. I get there, PA assures me im fine, people still weren't through with hair and makeup. Day goes fine. 2 weeks later, central sent me a letter terminating me. Extras management is completely at fault, and they never responded to any email asking why that had happened, taking any responsibility, or apologizing for it. Terrible company, zero patience, cold, little to no communication, they basically seem like they hate what they do, they hate who they work with. Would heavily advise steering clear of using this company. Plenty of other better quality calling services out there, not hard to find.

I moved here a couple months ago I guess. Was hesitant about singing a contract where I payed upfront for work. However, for the most part it has been an easy experience. I have worked more than I can handle unless I book out extra days for other things I do. The staff have been really cool so far. There has only been a few times I have received a lack or miss information and was unable to get a hold of anyone.. I understand that ultimately I could pay for that instead of them, but I also signed the contract knowing that. I am glad I went with them and its worth a shot for anyone considering joining, I worked every single day but weekends, I believe, last month.

When you're not Union this company is phenomenal. I stay busy six or seven days a week during busy filming seasons. I highly recommend this company to anyone who wishes to pursue an entertainment career in background acting.

Been with this company for 5 years... I’ll give u my honest opinion. In the beginning they will book you regularly/consistently which is wonderful to not have to bustle thru the submission lines. However, they slowly and deliberately book u the minimum to get a FULL ($85) month pay. If you have and questions to be inform on company policy, they lose all patience and you will get rude response. They will refer you to email the management/owner because he never takes a phone call. Talent have no seniority or loyalty program whatsoever longevity means zero. Furthermore EM has a bad relationship with central casting that they denied for too long. It’s obvious now... I stop getting CC booking thru EM since Last year (2018). CC contact me directly to book me and they refused to use EM.
Question:
If you can not find me work and I’ve been there for 5+ years, then why is Kevin DAILY taking new clients.
Glad I gave my review at the end of this 5 yrs run. Otherwise it’ll seem biased.

Please avoid this company at all cost. They have decided to take advantage of paying members by charging more money during the pandemic for the same exact service that they have been providing for years. They have made several empty promises regarding an online platform for members to streamline the process. It appears they have figured out how to charge more money but not how to get the online system running like they have been promising for years. Central Casting will No longer deal with them directly because they are unreliable. Now Central Casting will contact you directly because they do not want to deal with Extras Management. Apply for face2face instead.
