Been using fitz gravel for a couple years now with no issues, but Called in inquiring about loading a dump trailer with filldirt. I was essentially told that I was not worth their time which I sort of understand, but when I tried to clarify, they hung up on me mid sentence.

Based on the reviews, I called Fitz Gravel pit for an order and was quoted around $1,000 total. The deliver people were great, friendly and a pleasure to work with. Then at the end I was told that I owed $2,400 instead of the $1000 they quoted. They refused to honor the original and said $2000 was the lowest they could go, which is still double what I was quoted. Never at any point in the process did they tell me the price was going up. They said it was because it was so many delivery loads, however they only filled up the dump truck 1/3 of the way making the job take 3 times as long. I would have been okay with a price more than the estimate, but more than double the price is not acceptable, especially without notice.

Because of this, they ended up more expensive than other places.

The Screen E1 gravel was cheap but more like dirt. I don't recommend it for driveways.

While discussing how to handle this, they threatened to involve their attorney.

Unfortunately cannot recommend due to bait and switch, poor customer service, threats, etc.

I suggest looking elsewhere for gravel/dirt needs!

I needed to have 5 truck loads of gravel delivered to my house. Called Fitz Pit. Great customer service and they were able to get the job done same day. Truck driver nice and professional. Everything went great.

Fitz Gravel will give you the best price. $150 for 5 yards of 3/4 inch round delivered is what I payed, other companies were charging over $200. I've used Fitz Gravel before for topsoil delivery, the driver was very careful to dump on the tarp I laid down, bullseye!

Overloaded my new dump trailer to the point it wasn’t safe to drive and had to be shoveled out by hand. Put most of the weight to one side. The topsoil was garbage. I’ll be going somewhere else next time.
