Picked up my Ford F150 this week from Hammonasset Ford. Walking into the showroom for the first time I was greeted with a welcoming hello and was introduced to Cheryl Ann. She did a great job listening to what I was interested in, and not pushing any other options. We sat and worked up an offer that worked for me. Went on a test drive, and went thru the truck answering all my questions. After agreeing to the deal, and a very fair offer, I moved forward purchasing the truck. Through the whole process, Cheryl was very helpful. When I went to pick up my new truck, I worked with Steve, the finance representative. He did a great job getting me the right finance options I was looking for. We went thru all the paperwork explaining every detail. Cheryl brouth me to the service department and entroduced me to the team. Over all, a great exsperience.

I had a great experience buying my 2021 F150 from Dan back in 2021, which is why I’ll give them 2 stars instead of 1, but I can’t say the same for the service department.

In November I started having issues with my transmission. It would occasionally miss 2nd gear and clunk into 3rd. I brought it in to get checked out and they reset the adaptive tables and said that it was driving much better. I took it home and after driving about 30 miles it became worse. When I brought it back, they again reset the adaptive tables and said they were going to have to replace the valve body. At the time they said it was driving better, but they could not give me a date to bring it back in for the repair, and said that it would most likely be the end of December, because they only had 1 person that works on transmissions and there were 5 ahead of me. I took it home the day after Thanksgiving, and after about 30 miles it became 10x worse. The truck isn’t safe to drive anymore, so it has been sitting in my driveway since just after Thanksgiving. Fast forward to now, and I still don’t have a date to bring it in to be repaired, and they won’t give me a courtesy vehicle until it actually goes in to the shop.

I called again yesterday to see if there was any idea when it would be going in, and they were suppose to check with the mechanic, but I never received a call back.

I’m at the point where I’m considering just trading the thing in, even though there is only 46,000 miles on it and there’s another year and a half of the warranty left. Despite buying 3 vehicles from here in the past, I think I’ll be going elsewhere.

Do yourself a favor and call nearby Ford dealers immediately if they say they don’t know when they can get you in. I learned the hard way.
