John was professional from start to finish. It took a while to decide who would do our foundation work; he stayed in contact and was ready to answer any questions we had. He was knowledgeable about options that other companies were suggesting and was genuine in making us feel that he had our best interest in mind. His team was conscientious about keeping the work area as dust free as possible and after cleanup you hardly knew anyone had been at work. Project (correctly re-spacing existing piers, installing new piers, installing water channel and barrier wall.) Work completed withing the projected time frame and when there was a slight finishing issue, John was right there to make sure it was corrected. Had insurance man in, his response was, "Wow, whoever did this did a really good job!" The work was done Nov. 2016, we've had a dry basement ever since.

We had Foundation Repair Kansas City HBA install some piers to address some settling that had taken place in our home. The job took about a week to complete. Overall, we were disappointed with the quality of the work. In the contract it states that they cannot warrant that plants and shrubs will survive the process, which makes sense considering these things would be dug up and then replanted a week later. This is not what happened though. The majority of our plants were dug up and then either thrown into our neighbors yard or had a pile of dirt tossed on top of them. A large boxwood bush was not even dug up by the roots. They chopped it down at it's base and hacked it into pieces. When handled in this manner, of course plants are not going to survive the process. When we pointed this out to John, he seemed annoyed that we even mentioned it and agreed to at least replace the boxwood after we continued to press the subject. To reach the foundation nearest our front porch, they had to remove part of our concrete driveway. Three different pieces were cut out and removed. After installing the piers, they filled the hole back in and then simply put the three slabs of concrete back where they removed them from. On the final walk through, John pointed out that the slabs were much higher than the rest of the driveway, but would settle over time. We were confused why this was acceptable and why a new slab just wasn't poured. It only seemed logical to us for them to do so. After requesting this to be done, John had his crew come back out and pour a new slab, although they never came back out to remove the wooden form. When we received the initial contract, it stated that the work would include tuck pointing the brick and stone of the porches and the front wall. We emailed back to clarify if the front wall would include the chimney that runs up he front of our house. John said yes, however when it came time to do the work, they did not tuck point a large portion of the chimney. When questioned about it John said that the scope of work did not include the entire chimney and if it had, he would have quoted us much higher. Better communication would have been appreciated as this was not clear, even after we followed up with John about it, and this was a deciding factor in having HBA complete this work. The tuck pointing was sloppy and sub par at best. We had to point out several spots that were missed and even more that were not smoothed out. John agreed that the tuck pointing was not up to standard and had his team come back to address the issues. It seemed odd to us that we continuously had to be the ones to point these things out. After the job was "completed" we spent two hours cleaning up our front lawn after them. Empty water bottles, trash, and tools were left behind. Concrete was mixed in our lawn rather than over a drop cloth and hardened in our grass. When we explained this to John, he basically said there would be some straightening up to do to get it back to how we wanted it. Picking up other people's trash is not what I would have expected though. For a company that has been in business for years, it did not seem as though quality was a top priority, For as much money as we spent, we expected better, especially after reading so many great reviews.

John and Corey were both extremely professional and receptive to any input/details I had to contribute to my issues with foundation cracks leaking during heavier rainstorms. They both valued the essential importance of educating their client on potential levels of repair options to best achieve the desired results while keeping customer budget in mind. Pricing on repairs were fair, reasonable when considering the nature of the work and comparing with competitors. I would have to imagine it would be highly unlikely to find another foundation repair company with better experience, rates and all-round commitment to customer satisfaction.

We started to see some issues in our foundation on our house we bought a few years back. John came over to inspect it within the week of our call. He is very friendly and honest. He did an in-depth inspection of the whole foundation. Talked to us about our concerns and gave an excellent explanation on what was needed in the future, but noting that it wasn't a major problem. We were very relieved that it wasn't anything to stress over. Highly recommend John. We will be using them in the future, if needed.

John came out to look at our problem promptly, and was very helpful in explaining the process, including recommending structural engineers (required in our municipality). His pricing was competitive, and I felt confident that he recommended only the needed repairs. His workers completed the repairs earlier than estimated and laid out plywood on our lawn from the street to the repair site to minimize damage to our lawn from excavating equipment, which was appreciated. They also hauled away excess dirt so we didn't have to deal with it. Highly recommended.
