I had the Cambridge built the end of 2010 moved in April of 2011. It’s time I spoke up. This started as soon as I moved into the house.” I thought” I was buying new kitchen and bathroom cabinets, no these cabinets were used and came out of someone else’s home. The mortar in the brick is deteriorating. All the doors are not even, some are shorter than the other, with big gaps. The toilets suck, you have to flush them at three time to get to flush. The air conditioner, I had to get changed out for a newer on, within less than year after the house was built. There was hole the roof, which caused water damage to my house. The roof was half assed put up. I didn’t get a brand new home, I got a used home.

Company & staff incredibly easy to work with. We're retiring from NY to SW Alabama and signed with Heritage Family Homes to build the Warwick on our land after numerous builder inquiries and reviews. Being 1300 miles away caused some great anxiety. The staff in this office made us feel like we were their only project.
The job supervisor stayed in constant contact sending phots of updates and continuously asked questions for approval before moving onto the next step. When a family emergency arose for the supervisor, Heritage called me immediately and gave me contact numbers for his substitutes. The super even coordinated a few extra requests with his contractors such as extra concrete for the driveway and extra soil spreading for the final outdoor clearing (We did pay for the extra but Heritage did the coordination for me).
We paid for upgrades and a screen porch on the Warwick, which really wasn't that expensive. We moved interior walls during the planning stage actually flipping the kitchen location, removed the tub from the master bath and put in a walk-in shower, removed a window from one wall and put it on another & put the garage door onto the front of the house due to yard space at no additional costs. From ground breaking until closing took 8 months with an extremely wet Alabama winter.
All said & done, Heritage came in about $30K lower than the next reliable builder. There were others but reviewing the complaints filed with Baldwin County on them really limited our choices. We were never pressured for progressive payments until we were completely satisfied.
The only reason I didn't offer 5 stars is that I had to arrange for gutters and basic landscaping (Sod and some extra property grading) because it wasn't offered. We highly suggest speaking to Heritage Family if planning on building.

I would never recommend this company to anyone! I haven’t been in my home that took a year and a half to build for even a year. The ice maker doesn’t work I have had four interior door knobs come off the door in my hand you can see light thru my front door the stove doesn’t work correctly and now I am having to pay an air conditioning company to look at the air conditioner because the fan will not come on! Shame on all of you for doing this to me! My dad passed away and you dealt with me and my mother and took advantage of me! The slab is cracked on the front porch my bath tub stopper came out the hot water heater was not adjusted properly it was not turned up enough to take two baths

We choose heritage to build our dream home and everything so far during the construction process has been great! We understand that some things are on back order and they are also building homes in our area so the contractors will be behind a little. Small things like this are normal in a build. Our superintendent has been great throughout the entire process and has answered all of our questions we’ve had! I definitely suggest using them to build your dream home!

It took way longer than planned to build our home. Not to mention, after the first year we began to see cracks in the ceiling. We contacted the warranty department and because they weren't a certain length they wouldn't do anything about them. Now, about 5 years later they are way worse. We have even considered seeking legal action due to the fact we are worried that there is structural damage. We also paid about $1,200 extra to have them paint our home one neutral color, not knowing they would use the poorest quality paint. We can't even wipe our walls without the paint coming off. Honestly from the texture and appearance it just looks like primer. Lastly, anytime I call the office with any questions the guy whom answers is not knowledgeable of anything and sends me to someone's voicemail to either get a phone call back a week or more later or never. Being in the customer service industry, I am a firm believer that you should treat the customer(s) how you would want to be treated especially when they are spending thousand of dollars on a home. I am not impressed at all with this company and how they deal with problem issues. By the way, if you want to look up our contract the name is under Justin and Rachel Goree.

Terrible!! Our ceilings looked like they were waving at you and when they brought someone back in, they said if they fix it, it'll most likely look worse. Our toilets were also crooked and the flooring scratched and dented extremely easy when they told us it wouldn't! Our project manager would call us to see how the progress was going instead and going out there himself. The only good job that was done was the brick masonry.

Heritage Homes made building a home a lot easier than I ever thought. Only thing that happened that did bother me a little, was a few cost I did not understand up front. However, the flip side, there was a few things included that I assumed I was going to have to do. So, it all worked in the end. Their Forman Butch is awesome. He was a blessing to work with. He is very responsive, helpful as he can be and a super hard worker to make your home come to reality. My family would definitely recommend them and Butch!

Never Again! Lots and Lots of issues poor quality. Here are some issues in less than a month after moving in. Gas leak in the fireplace (had to immediately evacuate the house), doors that are no closing with huge gaps. I contacted the owner Frank Lott about poorly installed roof but hes is not interested in providing a good product or customer satisfaction. They say you get an warranty but guess what? not much is covered by warranty and apparently misaligned and rippled shingles are not. Don't even waste your time with this company. Pictures are coming soon...
