I am prompted to post this review a year and a half after my mother‘s disappointing bathroom remodel experience with Inside Out Remodeling because the electrical work is still costing her money to repair their work. She has paid another company, the additional money to correct their work with peace of mind that her house won’t burn down from inferior electrical wiring. The electrical wiring in the bathroom (lights, ceiling fan, and GFI switch) was faulty and confirmed by another electrical company to be “the most convoluted way to wire”, “way too many wires crammed into the box” and “he must have got confused and got it [the wiring] all turned around “. These were direct quotes from the other electrician.
The electrical work wasn’t the only disappointment with their work. A job that she was told would take 2 weeks ended up taking almost 2 months and many trips to local hotels because we didn’t have a bathtub or shower for bathing. The delays in completing this job were frustrating. Ryan worked on a sporadic schedule and some days called to say he wouldn’t be working at all. The times when he was at Mother’s house working on her bathroom, he was constantly on his phone supervising other projects, which took his focus off mother’s job. And it showed.
Before the remodel began, we reconfirmed our expectations for the job only to be ignored and reprimanded by Ryan for being too particular. We felt our opinions were undervalued and ignored. The communication was mostly nonexistent after that and led to an intimidating experience.
Due to the lack of communication, the medicine cabinet door was not installed to open the way my mother wanted it to, causing a conflict with the bathroom door when it was open. The wall sconces had to be removed and reinstalled because Ryan didn’t bother to ask which direction to point the globes. The shower handle and faucet were misaligned with the tub (fixed but required more tiles to repair), Ryan cracked a tile while installing the grab bar and failed to mention it (fixed but required more tile). He scraped and scratched the grab bar itself (not fixed). Inside Out asked mother to purchase the sink and toilet while they supplied the bathtub which was bent, scratched and appeared to be used (took $35 off the bill). They broke a small fan which they asked to use for drying tile grout and told my mother, “It just fell apart”. The tile installer asked how high mother wanted the tile in the shower and she indicated the height and marked it on the wall. That communication was ignored, and his ambivalence caused the work to be redone causing more delay. Near completion of the project, Ryan indicated to us that it was our responsibility to buy and install the heat register cover, leaving us frustrated and in disbelief but nevertheless searching the internet to find a cover. After locating a cover, I ordered and purchased it, and it arrived several days later (more delay and cost) only to find Inside Out installed the end caps upside down (fixed but costing more delay). There was also an unexpected charge for dumpster usage which was parked at their office.
One and a half years later, I can say that we would NOT recommend Inside Out to anyone. We felt they took advantage of an elderly woman unfamiliar with remodeling work or construction. As a customer, one expects a certain level of professional and reliability, neither of which we got from inside Out. One or two problems is expected with a remodel project but the way this project was handled failed to meet the slightest expectations. Shoddy workmanship and subpar materials attributed to a very disappointing experience.

We hired Inside Out Remodeling to remodel our primary bathroom. We could not recommend them more highly. Caleb did our estimate and was very helpful in helping us make decisions. His communication very responsive and knowledgeable. Ryan was the lead installer and was also good about communicating their schedules. Everyone involved was very professional and we felt very safe having them in our home. Again, we can’t recommend them more highly. You will not regret hiring them! Their work was beautiful!
