Be VERY VERY VERY careful picking up a load here, the people in the office at this company are clueless. They told another driver that there were new weight limits in California that were 8,000 lb higher than the federal limit. (Some states allow this, but California does not.) This was an outright lie. That driver knew it though and was having them take care of the problem. In the meantime, they gave me the wrong paperwork, and the wrong information about this load. The people in the office simply don't care, and / or just don't have any idea what they're doing. Avoid this place if you can.

Working 18 hours a day is not acceptable and it happens often. They abuse the ag exemption to the fullest to underpay and take advantage of drivers. Drivers are blamed for everything that goes wrong at the tolleson plant and the feed yards. Hot shots are acceptable according to bqa and allowed to be used as a tool when needed but jbs micro manages drivers decisions when you need one. The only thing that was good at this company was the culture. Uriel is an underrated and undervalued asset to this operation and all the core drivers there are fantastic people. They really deserve better. $15.50 an hour to wait in line to be unloaded is completely unacceptable. Most companies pay $50 an hour after 2 hours of waiting. When I was an owner operator I billed $75 an hour after 2 hours. The plant would break and then they would blame the drivers because we used the water to rinse out the trailers and then we would wait 4 hours for $64 and lose our other loads. We were only allowed to used 2 approved trailer washouts and one went out of business so everyone including outside carriers had to use the one washout and then they limit us to washing out twice a week when bqa clearly states trailer should be washed and sanitized between feed yards to not spread sickness between cattle yards. Then they say you can’t rinse out at your home terminal either because you’ll break the water system. Hourly pay was barely over minimum wage some days. At orientation they acted like they care about their drivers but they don’t trust their drivers. I got let go because I made the decision that it was not safe to stop at a yellow light and they let me go for deciding to take the light. I had committed to it and evaluated the intersection and had passed the point of no return before it turned yellow. Jbs doesn’t let you think for yourself. I’m a great driver. I have no tickets or accidents on my record. The safety department is a joke at jbs. I could keep going but you get the point. If it weren’t for Uriel and the drivers camaraderie and culture I would have left a long time ago. Uriel and the other drivers help you and really care about you and your family. It’s unfortunate that it’s wrapped around such a ridiculous operation called jbs.

The muddiest place on earth I lost a hat that costed $20 dollars just to pick up this load. My shoes are so muddy some people lost a lot of items due to this mud. This is a safety hazard I almost slipped and fell

There filling in the “Craters” on the dirt yard.
Dropped my load today & they got a front end loader filling the major holes .
There moving trailers to fill those holes in those parts of the yard also.
Working the loaded trailer side of the yard now.

They're not bad if you're doing a drop and hook here, but if you're picking up here as a second stop, they may load your load onto another trailer, then lose it, only to find it hours after you check in, then keep you waiting hours afterwards while they unload a different trailer beside it, so they can load the one you've brought in, I'm just hoping they have overnight parking.
If you do get sent away for a wash out, there is one next door, cost 50$ but beats waiting at The Blue Beacon
