I've been shopping at Joann for decades, and this is the worst by far. The store is constantly dingy, dirty, and in disrepair. Nothing is stocked(even if listed as being available online), there's boxes everywhere, and the store only ever had two employees at any given time, maybe. It has the highest turnover of any store I've ever seen so I can't imagine the employees (who all look miserable) are being treated very well. I've been forced to shopping here for two years and have literally never had a positive experience in the shop. The only resson this store is still in business is the fact that it's the only store in a remote area that sells a lot of their merchandise. Fairbanks deserves better.

I needed spray basting adhesive for my embroidery project so I stopped in here. It was priced $20.99, at Walmart it is $10.97. I had my infant and didn’t feel like making another trip so I did a quick google to see if they price match. Directly on their website it specifically lists they price match Walmart. So I ask when I get to the register and the young girl working wasn’t sure so she called back to (I’m assuming) a supervisor/manager who said no. So I pull up THEIR website and show her. She tells the supervisor she can see right on their website they do. So then they tell me they can do it. So not only are they charging you DOUBLE what other places sell it for, but they’ll lie to you and say they don’t price match unless you pull up their policy and call them out. And okay if you don’t know whether you do or not, but it took me 2 seconds to google and find your policy. Also I understand items are priced differently different places, but DOUBLE? Scammy. Will not return.

I spend so much money at this establishment, and I love this store, so it makes me sad to write this review. There is no longer a restroom for customers. In fact, there is no restroom for customers in the entire mall (according to the employees here). I love hitting up Joann’s when I am out shopping. I love learning new crafts. But this inconvenience means I would not be able to shop safely or take my time to browse the new decorations or materials or yarn. For this reason I will not be able to shop here any longer. I hate Amazon but unfortunately it’s either that or Micheal’s at this point. I’m very sad about this.

Great place to get crafts supplies. Like everything in Alaska, price is higher than in the lower 48. However JoAnn often has good ssles.

Perfect for getting yarn and crochet hooks to finish my projects and I find coupons on sale like %50 yarn and I'm saving on sales there I'm always going to be there for coupons and stuff ?

I love Joanns but an employee named Kirsten I believe told me I couldn't have items in a bag I planned on buying. I didn't think I was going to need a cart...a lady walked passed me and asked if I wanted hers and of course I took it. 10 min later Kirsten comes over and tells me I can't have items in the bag... I told her it was because I didn't have a cart.... she tells me "well you have one now"..... I swear now a days customer service sucks. They hire pretty much anyone off the streets. Don't think I'll be going back for awhile. I'll stick with Michaels and I hope you have a better day Kirsten.

I went in to purchase something today, Online they have something priced different than in stores I asked about it and she said I could order it online then to get that price…. So I can order it from the website $20 cheaper with free shipping but can’t get it for the price on your own store website? It doesn’t make sense to me. I also had some other discounted items that didn’t ring up at markdown price, luckily I mentioned it but I did feel like she wasn’t to happy I was asking questions about it.
My low rating is because it just seems weird that they don’t honor their own prices, and staff wasn’t very friendly it felt more like your burdening them.
